| Goal | Where to look | What the evidence says |
|---|---|---|
| Find the carrier | Mayhoa Skyhoof (NPC 268745), Orgrimmar; the reported patrol passes through the tunnel between The Drag and Valley of Honor. | The Forever item seller table lists Mayhoa, Horde, and stock 1. The Forever NPC record places her in Orgrimmar. Player reports describe her route through the tunnel.Source: Prairie Wolf Pup Carrier, item 277508 and Mayhoa Skyhoof, NPC 268745, retrieved October 8, 2026; Reddit route report, displayed as 20 days old on October 8. |
| Check the purchase | Inspect the vendor window before budgeting or buying. | Two firsthand comments report 60 silver. Wowhead’s seller table shows 63 in a coin field; its unit and the gap are unresolved. The separate 15-silver figure is the item’s Sell Price, not its purchase cost.Source: Ladiebear's item-page comment and trashgoblin9000's Reddit report, retrieved October 8, 2026; comment date/build unavailable. |
| If it is missing | Treat the one-item listing as limited stock, not a schedule. | Players report that the item can be gone, but no source here establishes a restock interval or availability on your visit.Source: Taraezor's NPC-page comment and beta scarcity discussion, retrieved October 8, 2026; comment dates and client builds are unavailable. |
The route has three independent firsthand accounts across Reddit and Wowhead: trashgoblin9000 reports finding the seller in the connecting tunnel, Ladiebear reports buying a limited-stock carrier, and Taraezor describes observing Mayhoa's patrol and a sale. The Reddit post showed a relative age of 20 days when checked on October 8; the Wowhead comment dates and all player builds were not displayed. These reports support a practical lead, not guaranteed availability.Sources: Reddit route report, Wowhead item comments, and Wowhead NPC comments; retrieved October 8, 2026.
The carrier is item 277508, marked “New in Forever” and added in patch 1.60.1 on its Forever item record. Its use text says it teaches the companion and that right-click summons or dismisses the prairie wolf pup. That is the item action documented here; it does not establish a pet journal or pet-battle system.Source: Prairie Wolf Pup Carrier, item 277508, retrieved October 8, 2026; the record exposes no checked client build or per-record update date.
Other Dated Route Leads
The following examples come from Jurdi's Wowhead Forever guide, which showed “Updated: 2026/10/08” and “Patch 1.60.1.” Its “Companions Quick Reference” lists the names, locations, and methods below. These are guide/database listings, not firsthand confirmation of a quest, drop, vendor stock, character eligibility, or current price in the beta. Scope and Limits
This is a starter route guide for non-Hunter cosmetic companions. It is not a complete collection list. The guide used for the dated leads itself includes unknown sources, and this evidence set does not verify every listed acquisition in the beta. It also does not confirm Alliance access to Mayhoa's item, a collection-journal workflow, account-wide ownership, or pet battles.
Use the item record's own tooltip for the carrier action and inspect Mayhoa's live stock and price if you find her. The reported 60-silver purchase price and Wowhead’s 63 seller-table field remain in conflict. The record's carrier icon can illustrate the item, but it is not an image of the summoned wolf.
