WoW Forever First Aid: What Changed?
Reported recipe additions, familiar bandage thresholds, and the client-data gaps that still matter.
Classic's bandage grind stays familiar: the beta adds new First Aid recipes and changes two older rows. Dense Runecloth Bandage is the wrinkle, with its color thresholds starting above 300.
Quick answer
Beta data adds 18 recipes, changes two older rows, and keeps the Classic bandage thresholds; Dense Runecloth's color breakpoints start above 300.
- Potion changeWowhead's Forever guide reports that Healing Potions are now crafted with First Aid rather than Alchemy.
- Lesser Healing PotionWowhead's Forever database lists yellow, green, and gray thresholds of 85, 105, and 125, with one Empty Vial, two Mild Spices, and one Briarthorn.

What changed in Forever's First Aid?
In the beta client comparison, First Aid has 22 entries marked new, 16 unchanged, two changed, and none removed or retired. Four of the new entries are First Aid rank rows, leaving 18 new recipe rows. These are reported client records, not confirmation that every recipe is obtainable in every beta build.
The biggest shift is the potion category. The comparison marks Minor, Lesser, Healing, Greater, Superior, and Major Healing Potion as retired from Alchemy and new under First Aid. That matches Wowhead's September 24 report. The client rows also add poultices, tourniquets, an anti-venom, and three recipes filed under Camping.
Two existing First Aid rows are flagged as changed:
- Powerful Anti-Venom now lists three results instead of one. The Huge Venom Sac reagent and the Formula: Powerful Anti-Venom recipe item (req skill 300) remain in the comparison.
- Crystal Infused Bandage has a deprecated reagent entry, and its referenced recipe item is missing from the extracted item table. The client data does not establish what the intended reagent should be.
The new recipe rows
These thresholds are the beta extract's yellow, green, and gray breakpoints, in that order. Reagents and outputs are per craft. A manual or blueprint appears only when the client extract names one; a blank source field is not proof that a trainer teaches the recipe.

The Lesser Healing Potion row is also listed on Wowhead's Forever spell page. The retained page capture records data from build 1.60.1.69876; the client comparison above uses build 1.60.1.70009, and the listed reagents and breakpoints match.
The familiar bandage ladder
The First Aid comparison keeps these Classic bandage recipes and their listed thresholds. Use the next row as a breakpoint reference, not as a guaranteed shopping list: the extract does not calculate how many crafts will produce each skill point.
| Bandage | Yellow / green / gray | Reagents per craft |
|---|---|---|
| Linen Bandage | 30 / 45 / 60 | 1 Linen Cloth |
| Heavy Linen Bandage | 50 / 75 / 100 | 2 Linen Cloth |
| Wool Bandage | 80 / 115 / 150 | 1 Wool Cloth |
| Heavy Wool Bandage | 115 / 150 / 185 | 2 Wool Cloth |
| Silk Bandage | 150 / 180 / 210 | 1 Silk Cloth |
| Heavy Silk Bandage | 180 / 210 / 240 | 2 Silk Cloth |
| Mageweave Bandage | 210 / 240 / 270 | 1 Mageweave Cloth |
| Heavy Mageweave Bandage | 240 / 270 / 300 | 2 Mageweave Cloth |
| Runecloth Bandage | 260 / 290 / 320 | 1 Runecloth |
| Heavy Runecloth Bandage | 290 / 320 / 350 | 2 Runecloth |
The route through familiar bandages still gives you a clear progression from Linen to Heavy Runecloth. Dense Runecloth Bandage is different: its recipe item says it requires skill 300, while its listed color thresholds begin at 315. The top beta rank row reuses the text of Classic rank 10846, "up to a potential skill of 300," and Wowhead's guide also lists Artisan as 225-300. Neither explains the 315 to 340 thresholds, so the data does not settle whether Dense Runecloth Bandage can skill up past 300.
If First Aid is one part of your character's leveling plan, RestedXP's Forever leveling guide is on sale and still being built, and Zygor's Forever guides are announced but not yet available.Source: RestedXP Forever page and Zygor's Forever announcement, checked Sep 28, 2026. The RestedXP vs. Zygor comparison sets them side by side. The profession leveling overview links this side project back to the wider tradeskill plan.
Not announced or unresolved
- Whether every new recipe is currently obtainable.
- Whether the cap is still 300, given Dense Runecloth's thresholds.
- Whether Dense Runecloth Bandage raises skill.
- The intended Crystal Infused Bandage reagent.
- Craft counts for a guaranteed 1-300 route.
The saved Wowhead First Aid guide says its leveling section is “coming soon.” Its trainer and level-gate details are reported secondary-source material, not observations from the client extract, so this page does not turn them into a trainer route.
What the beta client says each item does
The recipe tables above tell you what to craft. The client's item and spell records tell you what you get for it. Everything in this section is reported client data from build 1.60.1.70009, read from the extracted item, spell and duration tables. It shows what the files contain, not how the items behave on a live realm.
Healing potions
The six potions carry base heal values of 80 (Minor), 160 (Lesser), 320 (Healing), 520 (Greater), 800 (Superior) and 1,400 (Major). Those are midpoints. Wowhead's Forever item page for the Lesser potion shows the tooltip as "Restores 140 to 180 health," a level 3 requirement and a 2 minute cooldown.Source: Wowhead: Lesser Healing Potion item, Forever, checked Sep 28, 2026.
The client puts all six in spell category 4 with a 120 second category cooldown. One potion of any rank should therefore lock out the others for two minutes, so a bag of mixed potions is not a way to chain heals. Pick the strongest you can afford for the fight you are in.
Bandages
Bandages heal over time, ticking once per second. The client lists 11 per tick for Linen over 6 seconds, 23 per tick for Wool over 7 seconds, and 50 per tick for Silk over 8 seconds. Multiplying gives 66, 161 and 400 health per bandage. Heavy Runecloth ticks for 250 over 8 seconds, or 2,000 in total.
Dense Runecloth Bandage is the outlier. Its heal effect ticks for 425 over the same 8 seconds, so one bandage delivers 3,400 health, or 1.7 times a Heavy Runecloth.
These are not Forever buffs. The Classic Era client (build 1.15.9.69722) holds the same per-tick values for every bandage above, and it already carries the Dense Runecloth item, its Manual and its 425-per-tick heal. The comparison flags Dense Runecloth's recipe row as new only because Era's profession table does not list it.
Poultices, tourniquets and anti-venoms
Each curative cures effects only up to a set level. All of them share a one minute item cooldown, and the poultice and tourniquet tooltips say "Not useable in combat."
- Disease: Simple to level 25, Clever to 35, Superior to 45, Powerful to 65.
- Bleeds: Woolen Tourniquet to level 30, Leather to 45, Surgical to 65.
- Poison: Anti-Venom to level 25, Strong to 35, Potent to 45, Powerful to 65.
The three tourniquets and four poultices are new First Aid recipes. Anti-Venom and Strong Anti-Venom are unchanged Classic rows. Potent Anti-Venom is new, and Powerful Anti-Venom keeps its Classic recipe with three results now listed. The level caps mean you carry the tier that matches the content you are in, not one best potion.
First Aid at the campfire
First Aid contributes three objects to the Camping system, craftable at skill 20, 140 and 300. The client places each for 15 minutes, and the kit's tooltip says all camping features share a cooldown. See the Camping guide for how campsites work.
First Aid Kit
The kit needs 3 Linen Bandages and 1 Refreshing Spring Water. Its client tooltip gives anyone sitting nearby increased Stamina, exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude, and requires a Campfire. The bonus scales by level: 3 Stamina below level 12, then 8, 21, 34 and 45 in the brackets that start at 12, 24, 36 and 48, and 56 at level 60. Wowhead's camping guide lists the same buff as plain Stamina.Source: Wowhead: Camping Overview in Forever, checked Sep 28, 2026.
Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory
Both upgrades keep the First Aid Kit's Stamina buff and can be placed over the kit to replace it. Toxin Study is described as containing healing potions and anti-venom. Plague Doctor's Laboratory is described as containing healing potions and poultices. The tooltips do not say how many items sit inside, whether players share them, or whether they refill.
What each stock is worth is therefore unproven. Use the Stamina buff as the known benefit and treat the contents as a claim you can check once you can place one.
Should you take First Aid in Forever?
Wowhead's guide says no race gets a First Aid bonus and that all classes benefit, especially those without healing. In a Blizzard forum thread started Sep 18, 2026, one player says melee classes should always level it.Source: Blizzard forums: Alchemy, why did you remove Healing Potions, player posts, checked Sep 28, 2026.
The potion reaction
The potion move is contested. In a separate thread, one player wrote that healing potions were "moved from alchemy to make first aid more useful," and that Alchemy gained plenty of new recipes.Source: Blizzard forums: First Aid Potions, player post from Sep 23, 2026, checked Sep 28, 2026. Others objected that the recipes need herbs a Blacksmith or Miner cannot gather. These are player opinions, not Blizzard statements. The first 20 captured posts include no staff reply.
The practical read is that potion recipes call for herbs, and First Aid does not gather them. Plan on buying the herbs, gathering them with Herbalism, or skipping potion crafting. The Alchemy guide covers what Alchemists have left.
Where Wowhead says you learn the ranks
Wowhead reports that trainers in major cities teach Apprentice and Journeyman. It says Expert comes from a book sold by faction vendors, and Artisan is a quest reward that needs character level 35.
The client agrees on the book: the Expert recipe item, Expert First Aid - Under Wraps, requires skill 125. The Artisan recipe item is missing from the extracted item table. Wowhead also lists neutral trainers on Zephras Isle. Blizzard's Sep 17 beta article set a level 20 opening cap, so the level 35 Artisan quest could not be reached in that window.
A sensible order
Begin with Linen bandages and the First Aid Kit while you level, since the kit needs only 3 Linen Bandages and 1 water. Save cloth for bandages, and bank Simple Wood for the Toxin Study you can craft at 140. Do the rest of your profession leveling around that. The Cooking guide covers the campfire itself, which the First Aid objects require.
First Aid FAQ
Did the beta remove the familiar bandage recipes?
No. The comparison retains the Classic bandage rows and their listed yellow, green, and gray thresholds.
Are healing potions now part of First Aid?
The beta comparison marks six Healing Potion rows retired from Alchemy and new under First Aid.
Can Dense Runecloth Bandage level First Aid above 300?
The extract lists a 300 recipe requirement and thresholds beginning at 315, while the top rank text still says 300. It does not show whether the bandage grants skill-ups past 300.
What does the First Aid Kit give at the campfire?
The client tooltip reports increased Stamina for players sitting nearby, 56 at level 60, exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude. It requires a nearby Campfire.
