What Blizzard Has Said
In WoW Forever, Dwarf and Horde-aligned Skyborne characters can play Shaman. Blizzard's race and class tables list Dwarf Shaman among six new class-and-race combinations, and the Deep Dive panel recap says more are planned. The Battle.net product page names it too. Blizzard's Skyborne article says Horde-aligned Skyborne gain Shaman, while Alliance-aligned Skyborne gain Mage. The product page says Skyborne and Zephras Isle need the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher.
Blizzard's October 7 Shaman deep dive describes updates supporting spellcasting, melee, healing and hybrid play, and calls Enhancement a temporary tank in small group gameplay.Blizzard: October 7 deep dive, checked Oct. 8, 2026. It lists baseline abilities and totem changes, but no complete spell or totem list, rotation or recommended build. The September 24, October 1 and October 7 sections keep each beta claim dated. The Shaman tree's New and Changed flags come from the community dataset, not from Blizzard. The Dwarf racial reports and class baseline live on the race page, where Warcraft Tavern and Wowhead disagree.
October 1 Beta Build Changes

The October 1 patch notes summary covers every class.Source: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, checked Oct. 8, 2026.
- Ghost Wolf: should now be more visible in well-lit areas.
- Disease Cleansing Totem: fixed so it lasts 5 minutes.
- Totemic Recall (Oct. 1): notes said its refund was fixed.
- October 7 deep dive: the beta refund bug persists.

What Is Still Unknown
Blizzard gives a role overview and lists baseline changes, but not a complete ability reference, rotation or recommended build.Blizzard: October 7 deep dive, checked Oct. 8, 2026.
- The full totem list and unlisted values remain open.
- We found no first-party Dwarf Shaman art, names, or lore.
- The published Shaman builds are community work.
- No first-party source names a fourth Shaman specialization.
The September 24 and October 1 notes list only those builds' changes. The Dwarf racials are published. Of the community builds, the tank build above comes from a creator reading a demo calculator, Wowhead's calculator still mirrors WoW Classic, and wowtbc.gg lists Shaman as coming soon.
Shaman leveling routes will come from guide makers first. RestedXP's WoW Forever leveling guide says every route "will be optimized for your class"Planned, first-party, in the future tense, and its addon notes fix the Barrens start "for Shaman/Warrior".Source: RestedXP addon releases, v4.11.10, Sep 25, 2026.
Race and Class Combinations
Alliance players can roll Shaman only as a Dwarf; Horde players can pick Orc, Tauren, Troll or Windshaper Skyborne.
| Option | Evidence | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Dwarf Shaman | New. Blizzard names the combination in the Deep Dive recap, on the product page, and in its September 22 Alliance table. | Confirmed |
| Skyborne | Windshaper Skyborne (Horde) get Shaman; High Order Skyborne (Alliance) get Mage. | Confirmed |
| Orc, Tauren, and Troll Shaman | Original Shaman races, all in Blizzard's September 22 Horde table. Wowhead listed them earlier. | Confirmed |
These rows come from the tables in Blizzard's Create the Hero article, published September 22, 2026. Dwarf is the only Alliance Shaman.
What Each Tree Adds in the Client Read
Each Shaman tree gets new talents in the community read of the beta client. That read of build 1.60.1.70009 lists 50 Shaman talents, 12 of them new. Values are Reported until Blizzard publishes them.
Elemental
Elemental builds to Elemental Mastery, back at 31 points in Blizzard's October 15 notes; moves to 21 points and deals 20% more damage if Flame Shock is on the target. Lightning Overload gives and a 10% chance to cast again at half damage, and Earthbound makes Earthbind Totem root nearby targets for 5 sec. The build 1.60.1.70009 read had sixteen talents: 3 new, 11 changed and 2 matching Classic Era. The Elemental Shaman page has the full tree.
Enhancement
In Enhancement, Mental Dexterity turns 100% of your Intellect into Attack Power, Maelstrom Weapon gives melee hits a chance to cut your next Lightning Bolt's cast time and Mana cost by 20%, stacking five times, and adds 30% attack speed for 25 sec. The tree has eighteen talents: 6 new, 9 changed and 3 unchanged.
Restoration
Restoration builds to Riptide, the capstone heal. Water Shield restores Mana when you are hit or, since Blizzard's October 15 notes, when any of your spells crits, not only your heals.Blizzard: October 15 beta notes, post 6, Shaman > Restoration. Mindfulness keeps 50% of Mana regeneration going while casting. The tree has sixteen talents: 3 new, 10 changed and 3 unchanged.
How the Reported Enhancement Tank Build Works
Treat this build as creator theorycraft: it aims to tank on Rockbiter Weapon threat and parry, and the video finds no conventional taunt. Dungeon Coach's tank build video, published September 14 from a BlizzCon-era demo calculator, argues that Shaman can tank through Rockbiter Weapon threat, Earth Shock, as a spell, totems and parry from Spirit Weapons. Reported: this is creator theorycraft, not a Blizzard statement or tested play. The video itself admits it finds no conventional taunt.
Blizzard describes Enhancement as "a temporary tank in small group gameplay."Confirmed, a first-party sourceBlizzard: October 7 deep dive, checked Oct. 8, 2026.

What the Beta Client Read Confirms
Most of the talents the build leans on show up in the client read of build 1.60.1.70009, though those values are reported too. Spirit Weapons gives parry and 30% more threat while Rockbiter Weapon is active. Improved Stormstrike gives a chance to reset its cooldown each time the Shaman dodges or parries.Blizzard: October 7 deep dive, checked Oct. 8, 2026. The saved client read lists 50% Mana regeneration while casting for 15 sec.
Anticipation adds 6% dodge at three ranks, Elemental Weapons raises Rockbiter's Attack Power bonus by 20%, and Shamanistic Focus cuts Shock and Lightning Shield Mana costs by 45%. Toughness now gives 10% Stamina, not the item armor bonus Classic Era's version gave.
Off-Tree Picks and Totems
The video reaches into the other trees, and the read backs its picks: Elemental Warding cuts Fire, Frost and Nature damage taken by 10%, Reverberation takes 1 sec off Shock cooldowns, and Tidal Focus now adds 5% hit. Improved Reincarnation adds 4% maximum health.

The creator also reads totems as movable and many of their effects as raid-wide. In the read, Totemic Focus discounts "any spells that summon or move"
totems. Blizzard's September 24 notes said Tranquil Air, Windfury and Grace of Air Totems no longer stacked even from different Shamans in one group; the October 7 deep dive later lists Tranquil Air Totem as removed.Blizzard: September 24 beta notes, checked Oct. 8, 2026.Blizzard: October 7 deep dive, checked Oct. 8, 2026. Blizzard's October 15 notes let Grace of Air stack with Windfury or Flametongue Totem and make Grace of Air, Strength of Earth, Windfury and Flametongue Totems raid-wide.Blizzard: October 15 beta notes, post 6, Shaman.
Race Picks the Build Considers
For this tank build, the video favors Tauren for survival on the Horde side and Dwarf Stoneform on the Alliance side. The video ranks Tauren first for survival, since War Stomp partly covers the missing taunt, Orc for threat through Blood Fury, and Troll as the hybrid through Berserking and Rapid Regeneration. It rates Dwarf Stoneform the best Alliance defensive, and Skyborne weakest for a stationary tank.
This September 14 ranking predates Blizzard's October 15 racial changes: Tauren Endurance and War Stomp, Dwarf Earth Fury, Orc Savage and Blood Fury, and Troll Regeneration.Blizzard: October 15 beta notes, post 6, Racial abilities. Blizzard's tables since the video confirm Dwarf as the only Alliance Shaman and Windshaper Skyborne as the Horde Skyborne Shaman.

Talent Tree Changes Across Beta Builds
The Shaman trees are still moving: two client reads one build apart show talents changing rows and prerequisites. Both are Reported: they come from the same community calculator reading Blizzard's client files.Source: WoW Forever Talents beta build notes, checked Sep 28, 2026.
Restoration's Early Row Swap
On October 7, moved up to Row 1; the October 15 notes put it back on Row 2, with on Row 1.Blizzard: October 15 beta notes, post 6, Shaman > Restoration. Totemic Focus also discounts Totemic Projection and totem Call spells.Blizzard: October 7 deep dive, checked Oct. 8, 2026. In the client read, Tidal Mastery moved down from Row 1 to Row 4, between the BlizzCon-era dataset and client build 1.60.1.69977. The September 24 notes add only a crit fix to Restoration.
Elemental's Prerequisite Chain Flipped
In the newer build, 1.60.1.70009, Elemental Alacrity comes first on Row 3, and Elemental Fury waits behind Call of Thunder on Row 6. In build 1.60.1.69977, still sat on Row 3, needed 5 points in it, and on Row 6 needed Call of Thunder.
Build 1.60.1.70009 applies Blizzard's September 24 swap: Elemental Alacrity is on Row 3 with no prerequisite, Call of Thunder needs 3 points in Elemental Alacrity, and Elemental Fury on Row 6 needs Call of Thunder. Blizzard's October 15 notes move Elemental Alacrity to Row 2, remove Call of Thunder and make Elemental Fury require Lightning Overload.Blizzard: October 15 beta notes, Shaman > Elemental.
Blizzard confirms the row swap. The prerequisite chain comes only from the client read and has already changed once, so check the calculator before planning around it.
Leveling a Shaman Before Launch
If you start as an Orc, Troll or Tauren, RestedXP's addon already has Forever updates for Durotar and early Mulgore. Blizzard hasn't published a Shaman leveling route. RestedXP's addon release v4.11.10 adds Forever updates for Durotar, Mulgore levels 1 to 6, Teldrassil and Darkshore levels 16 to 19, alongside the Barrens start fix.Source: RestedXP addon releases, v4.11.10, Sep 25, 2026. Durotar and Mulgore are Orc, Troll and Tauren starts.
Zygor Guides plans its Forever guides for Elite subscribers at launch, so it has no Shaman route in the beta. RestedXP vs Zygor compares the two guides. The site's own Shaman leveling guide lays out an Elemental talent route built on the confirmed changes above.
