WoW Forever Price, Cost and Editions

How much does WoW Forever cost?

You don't need to buy an edition. A WoW Subscription or Game Time gets you into Forever on November 4, 2026. The Blizzard Forever pages we checked don't print that subscription price. The WoW Forever price for everything else is an optional one-time upgrade: $29.99 for the Skyborne Heroic Pack, $59.99 for the Skyborne Epic Pack, $79.99 for the Warcraft Forever Collection, and $150.00 for the physical Collector's Edition. Blizzard made more English copies of the Collector's Edition available on September 24. Heroic is the cheapest way to play Skyborne.

Epic is the cheapest digital way to guarantee Beta access. Each edition is explained under its price.

What an Upgrade Covers

Digital upgrades are one-time purchases, and they don't replace the Subscription or Game Time you need to keep playing. The Game Time in Epic and the Collection activates at launch. The Collector's Edition's Game Time activates when you claim its code. We checked US prices on September 12, 2026.

Collector's Edition Availability

The physical Collector's Edition sold out on the Gear Store on September 13, 2026. On September 24, Blizzard updated its Collector's Edition post:

Blizzard

We are making additional English versions of the World of Warcraft: Forever Collector’s Edition available for purchase starting as early as today (exact timing will vary by retailer) in North America, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand

The updated article says restock orders "are expected to be shipped and delivered February 2027, after the November 4, 2026, launch." It also sets "a strict purchase limit of one (1) copy per household on the Blizzard Gear Store." Players in Australia and New Zealand buy through participating regional retailers.

Evidence and Answers

Blizzard’s pre-purchase announcement places Skyborne and Zephras Isle in Heroic or higher. Epic and the Collection include Beta access, and Blizzard Support confirms the Collector’s Edition is another guaranteed-Beta route.

What Each Pack Actually Includes

The packs stack. Blizzard lists Epic as "Everything in the Skyborne Heroic Pack" plus more, and the Collection as "Everything in the Skyborne Epic Pack" plus more.Blizzard: Pre-Purchase World of Warcraft: Forever Upgrades, checked Sep 28, 2026. Buying a higher tier never means losing a lower tier's items.

Skyborne Heroic Pack, Item by Item

For $29.99 you get the Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle starting experience, Early Name Reservation, and a Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount. Blizzard notes you must buy the riding skill in-game before you can use the mount.

The pack also adds the Shen'dorei Skyseer's Garb, a Veteran Adventurer's Rucksack, a Shen'dorei Windwell toy, Skyborne housing decor for modern World of Warcraft, and one Invite-A-Friend Launch Code.

Skyborne Epic Pack, Item by Item

Epic adds beta access from September 17 through October 21. It also adds 30 days of Game Time, which Blizzard puts on your account starting November 4, not the day you buy. Epic includes more Veteran Adventurer-inspired cosmetics, tabards, and pets too, but the announcement doesn't name them. Two more Invite-A-Friend codes bring you to three.

Warcraft Forever Collection, Item by Item

The $79.99 Collection adds Warcraft III: Reforged and the new Forsaken Kingdom campaign, set around the fall of Lordaeron, the founding of the Undercity, and the first Forsaken Paladin. It also adds Forsaken and Human figurine decor for modern WoW housing.

Blizzard sells the campaign on its own too, so the Collection is the bundle for players who want both. It's a limited-time offer, and Blizzard says it runs through January 11, 2027.

Choosing Between the Four Options

If Skyborne Is the Only Draw

Heroic is the cheapest route to Skyborne and Zephras Isle. It has no beta access and no Game Time, so you're paying for the race, the cosmetics, and one friend code.

If You Want to Test Before Launch

Guaranteed beta access comes only with Epic, the Collection, or the physical Collector's Edition. Signing up on the official beta page is free but not guaranteed. Blizzard Support also states that "Invite-A-Friend codes do not grant Beta access," so a friend code won't get anyone into the test.Source: World of Warcraft Alpha or Beta Access, checked Sep 28, 2026.

If You Collect Physical Items

The Collector's Edition is the only option with anything you can hold. Blizzard expects orders from the September 24 restock to ship in February 2027, after the November 4 launch. An October 21, 2026 Gear Store capture said orders placed before September 24 are scheduled to ship October 2026 and later orders February 2027.Source: Gear Store: World of Warcraft: Forever Collector's Edition, checked Oct 21, 2026.

Getting Into and Keeping Your Beta Access

Two Official Routes In

Blizzard Support lists two ways into the beta: buy an eligible upgrade for guaranteed access, or sign up on the official WoW website. The sign-up guarantees nothing, and it only opens while testing is active or about to start. Customer Support can't grant Alpha or Beta access.

Activating Your Access

Epic and Collection buyers don't need to claim a code. Blizzard flags the account for beta automatically, and it does the same for accounts picked from the sign-up. If access is missing, Support says to check that the Battle.net order shows as Complete, since failed orders get no beta.

Collector's Edition buyers get a redeemable code by email, sent to the address used for the Gear Store purchase. Blizzard limits it to one redemption per WoW account, and you can't redeem it on an account that already has beta access.Source: Pre-Purchase the World of Warcraft: Forever Collector's Edition, checked Sep 28, 2026. Support can't replace a lost code or help with one redeemed on the wrong account.

Beta Access Can Be Revoked

The beta client can go offline at any moment. There's no dedicated beta forum, only the general WoW: Forever forum. In a September 25 notice, Blizzard said it forced name changes on beta characters whose names broke its naming policies.Source: World of Warcraft Alpha or Beta Access, checked Sep 28, 2026.

The same notice says Blizzard removed beta access from some users whose names were far outside its Code of Conduct. It also says Customer Service "cannot and will not assist with any appeals." Support adds that Blizzard will revoke beta access for Code of Conduct violations, so an edition buys you entry, not a permanent seat.

Invite-a-Friend and Name Reservation

How Many Codes, and When They Arrive

Heroic gives one code; Epic and the Collection give three. A September 14 capture of Blizzard Support said the Collector's Edition's three codes come on top of three from a digital purchase, for six. Blizzard Support doesn't say what a Heroic buyer ends up with after adding a Collector's Edition.Source: Invite-A-Friend Codes, checked Sep 14, 2026.

The Gear Store listing, captured September 25, October 8 and October 21, limits Invite-A-Friend Launch codes to three per household. The sources don't reconcile that cap with the six-code total.Source: Gear Store: World of Warcraft: Forever Collector's Edition, checked Oct 21, 2026.

Each code lets an eligible friend play Forever from November 4 through November 11 without a subscription or Game Time.

Blizzard emails the codes starting October 20. The offer excludes gift purchases.Source: Pre-Purchase World of Warcraft: Forever Upgrades, checked Sep 28, 2026.

Reserving a Character Name Early

Any upgrade includes Early Name Reservation from October 27 through November 3. You can create and customize up to three characters in that window, with names handed out first come, first served. Blizzard says it can't guarantee the names you want.

Getting More From a Collector's Edition Purchase

What Ships in the Box

Blizzard's September 24 announcement says the set holds a 13-inch Dwarf and Bear statue, a Zephras Isle mousepad, art prints, collectible pins, and a companion journal, alongside the Warcraft Forever Collection digital code.Source: Pre-Purchase the World of Warcraft: Forever Collector's Edition, checked Sep 28, 2026. The code unlocks the Epic Pack, Warcraft III: Reforged, and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign.

The Gear Store listing, captured October 21, 2026, gives the statue as 7.5 inches instead of 13, and Blizzard hasn't reconciled the two sizes.Source: Gear Store: World of Warcraft: Forever Collector's Edition, checked Oct 21, 2026.

Unlocking Digital Perks Before the Box Arrives

If your Collector's Edition hasn't shipped, Blizzard lets you buy the Collection or other Forever digital products on Battle.net now. Some of those purchases may qualify for a Battle.net Balance credit equal to what you paid, once you redeem your Collector's Edition code by December 31, 2027.

Blizzard says not every product or upgrade path qualifies. Some credits apply automatically; others need Customer Support.

Upgrading Later

Wowhead's pre-order guide reports that you can upgrade to a pricier edition later but can't downgrade.Source: Forever Pre-Orders Guide: All Editions and Rewards, checked Sep 28, 2026. The Blizzard pages we checked on Sep 28, 2026 don't say this, so treat it as reported.

Prepare a Name Shortlist

Before early reservation, use the Forever name generator to save original first-name and surname combinations. Keep alternatives ready on the device you'll use. Browser favorites are local, and the game makes the final availability and acceptance check.
