Current Racial Rules

Skyborne Wind-Blessed gives 2% Haste. Windshaper Skysight gives 15% movement speed for 15 seconds; an elemental convergence grants Charged for 1 hour, increasing that benefit to 30%. High Order Read Leyline (Read Ley Line) gives 50% Health and Mana regeneration for 15 seconds, cannot be used during Innervate and is replaced by Innervate. At a Ley Line it grants Attuned for 1 hour, raising the benefit to 100%. Both buffs persist through death and clear on raid entry.

Player questionEvidenceConfirmed answer
What is it?The Skyborne starting experience in World of Warcraft: Forever
What levels does it cover?Levels 1 through 12
What does it look like?Elemental and skybound, with Classic Warcraft aesthetics and architecture inspired by Skywall
Is there a walkthrough? No official map, quest order, or route; beta notes name three quests

Zephras Isle is the level 1 through 12 Skyborne starting experience. Blizzard describes an elemental, skybound setting with Skywall-inspired architecture, but hasn't published enough detail for a quest walkthrough. Blizzard's Skyborne article gives the level range, its What's Next recap gives the setting, and its beta launch article puts the zone in the beta's first week.

Who can enter the Skyborne starting experience?

You need Heroic or higher to start on Zephras Isle, according to Blizzard's pre-purchase announcement and Battle.net product page. That access rule covers both the Skyborne race and its starting questline. Beta access is separate, so Heroic alone doesn't promise entry.

Region Background

The Found Photos recap says the shen’dorei fled Eldre’Thalas after the War of the Ancients and found refuge in Skywall. The announced material covers the zone’s purpose, level band, theme and Skyborne connection.

Quests and Places Named in the September 24 Beta Notes

Treat these quests and places as beta fixes, not a route; they can change before launch. Blizzard's September 24 beta development notes are the first Blizzard text to name Zephras Isle quests and places.

Swipe sideways to see all columns.

NameEvidenceWhat the notes say
"Catching Wind"A High Order Skyborne quest, now redesigned
Overlook Standing Stones, Shen'dar HighlandsSpawns adjusted there for "Catching Wind"
"Wounds of Betrayal"The druids of Nightclaw Cavern now give credit when healed
"A Firm Response"No longer fails to grant credit

The notes give no order, level, or reward for these quests. A separate Skyborne quest, "Exploring the Horde", takes place in Undercity rather than on the island; the Skyborne guide covers it.

The Shen’dorei’s Fractured Island Home

Zephras Isle is the shen’dorei’s island home, which wind spirits anchored inside Skywall, the elemental plane. Blizzard’s Found Photos Panel Recap holds that and most of the other published Zephras lore. It calls the Skyborne the shen’dorei, or “hidden people,” descended from rebels who fled Eldre’Thalas after the War of the Ancients.Blizzard: Found Photos Panel Recap.

An Island in Crisis

Players arrive after things have gone wrong. The recap says the elemental benefactors have vanished, the pylons holding Zephras together are failing, and parts of the island are falling into ruin and darkness. The Skyborne article adds that communities are becoming isolated and the Skyborne are divided over what comes next.

Blizzard files Zephras under its “unexpected” category of additions and calls it “a surprising but self-contained experience.”Blizzard: Found Photos Panel Recap.

Windshapers, High Order, and the Al’Aketh

Two of the island’s rival groups share the faction names you pick at character creation: Windshaper for Horde and High Order for Alliance. The recap names three of the groups vying for control of the island: the Windshapers, the High Order, and the Al’Aketh. Blizzard hasn't said anything else about the Al’Aketh, including whether they are friend or foe.

Choosing a Faction and Class

Your faction choice sets your class list. Blizzard's Meet the New Skyborne article, published September 22, 2026, gives both lists in full.

Windshaper Skyborne (Horde)

Windshapers can be a Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, or Warrior. The High Order can't play Shaman, a class tied to the elemental traditions Windshapers keep. Their lore goal is to find their missing elemental mentors and restore the wind spirits.

High Order Skyborne (Alliance)

High Order Skyborne can be a Druid, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, or Warrior. Mage is their side's exclusive class. They descend from Highborne scholars of Eldre’Thalas and want to reclaim lost arcane knowledge so the shen’dorei can stand on their own.

Neither side can roll Paladin, Priest, or Warlock. Both get new druid forms made for the race. GameFragger, a user-submitted site, reports that the bear, cat, travel, and moonkin forms shown at BlizzCon use a sky-blue palette, and that no tree form was shown.

Racials That Differ by Faction

Both factions share three racials, and each faction adds a racial of its own. The same article lists the shared three:

  • Walk on Air: glide downward for 10 seconds.

Wind Blessed: current bonus is 2% Haste. Historically, October 15 raised it from 1% to 3%; the later racial update reduces it to 2%.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Official wording; realm behavior not tested.

  • Elemental Insight: 5% more damage to Elementals.

Windshapers add Skysight, now 15% movement for 15 seconds, or 30% while Charged. High Order adds Read Ley Line, now 50% Health/Mana regeneration for 15 seconds, or 100% while Attuned; it cannot be used during Innervate and is replaced by it. The 1-hour buffs persist through death and clear on raid entry. The Skyborne race guide covers each racial in depth.

Playing Zephras Isle in the Beta

Zephras Isle was in the beta from the start. Blizzard's beta launch article lists "Skyborne and Zephras Isle" as week 1 content, alongside all zone content up to level 20.Blizzard: beta launch article.

Level Cap and What Comes Next

A beta Skyborne finishes the island well under the level cap, since the island covers levels 1 through 12. The beta opened with a level 20 cap, and Blizzard raised it to 30 with the October 1 update.Confirmed, a first-party sourceSource: Blizzard forums: Beta Update Maintenance - October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026. The same week 1 wave added two dungeons: Hall of Thanes (13 to 18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15 to 20).

Testing runs through October 21, 2026. Beta access comes from the Epic Pack, the Collection, or a sign-up invite, not the Heroic Pack. The beta guide covers how to get in.

Profession Trainers on the Island

Most professions have new trainers in two Zephras Isle places, Shen'dar Village and Valanaar, according to Wowhead's Forever database. That's reported beta data, not a Blizzard list. The gathering and First Aid trainers have waypoints:

  • Herbalism: Halassa Fernbreeze, Shen'dar Village (43.0, 43.6).
  • Herbalism: Syriel Nightrain, Valanaar (57.8, 75.4).
  • Mining: Messana Crestwind, Shen'dar Village (44.8, 44.4).
  • Mining: Halavuul Cragwind, Valanaar (65.4, 80.4).
  • First Aid: Naleeia Tattermend, Shen'dar Village (43.0, 46.2).
  • First Aid: Melasa Fairmend, Valanaar (63.0, 72.6).

Sources: Wowhead's Herbalism, Mining and First Aid overviews.

Crafting and Secondary Trainers

Six other professions get two Zephras trainers each, with no waypoints, according to Wowhead's Forever skill pages:

  • Alchemy: Nyassa Swiftdraught, Valiena Swiftgale.
  • Enchanting: Eaysaa Brightgust, Nasalanna Windsinger.
  • Fishing: Fenn Fairweather, Baelann Swiftcurrent.
  • Leatherworking: Emerii Tallgust, Indari Sunseam.
  • Skinning: Ishlee Breezewhisper, Mendalass Tattermend.
  • Tailoring: Othesia Evengale, Taleen Shimmerthread.

Wowhead marks these for both factions. It also lists a third alchemist, Iaadaria Bitterwind, for Alliance only. We didn't check Blacksmithing, Engineering, or Cooking for island trainers.Source: Wowhead Forever Alchemy skill, checked Sep 28, 2026.

What You Can Gather

Wowhead's Mining guide lists Zephras Isle among the Copper Vein zones, with no island-specific ore. Blizzard's October 1 beta notes reduce the number of Poor Copper Vein nodes in starter areas, but they don't name Zephras Isle.Source: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, Professions section, checked Oct 1, 2026. Its Herbalism guide has no Forever herb location table yet, so there's no Zephras herb list to give. The professions hub covers leveling each trade.

What the Skyborne Heroic Pack Includes

The Skyborne Heroic Pack is the cheapest edition that unlocks Zephras Isle. Blizzard's pre-purchase announcement lists the contents.

Items and Perks

Besides the Skyborne race and start, the pack adds a mount, cosmetics and a few extras.

What It Leaves Out

You still buy the riding skill in game to use the mount, and the Heroic Pack has no beta access. Its name reservation runs October 27 through November 3, 2026, for up to three characters, first come, first served. The editions guide compares Heroic against the Epic Pack and the Collection.

Shen'dar Is Not Shen'dralas

Shen'dar Highlands and Shen'dar Village are on Zephras Isle. Shen'dralas is a separate new area on the mainland, which the Found Photos recap places "South of Desolace through the Valley of Bones," exploring stories tied to Eldre'Thalas.Blizzard: Found Photos Panel Recap.

The names look alike, and both stories lead back to Eldre'Thalas. Press recaps such as Massively Overpowered's deep dive coverage list Zephras Isle and Shen’Dralas side by side among four new regions, with Mount Hyjal and the Riverglades.

Leaving the Island

Your next zone after level 12 isn't confirmed, since Blizzard hasn't said where Skyborne go. GameFragger reports that Skyborne join the same Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor climb as other races, toward the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal. Treat that as unconfirmed.

For guided leveling, RestedXP says its Forever routes will "account for new class and race combinations," a planned feature. It hasn't said whether that includes a Zephras Isle start.

Not Announced or Unresolved

  • Route after level 12Do not assume a destination; Blizzard has not published the handoff route

There's no published full map, quest order or travel route for the island.

  • A full map and landmark list are unpublished.
  • Quest order, rewards, and loot tables are unpublished.
  • Travel routes into and out of the island are unpublished.
  • The destination after level 12 is unpublished.

Zephras Isle FAQ

What level range is Zephras Isle?

Zephras Isle covers levels 1 through 12. Blizzard calls it the Skyborne starting experience.

Do you need the Skyborne Heroic Pack for Zephras Isle?

Yes. Blizzard says the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience require the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition.

Is there an official Zephras Isle map or quest walkthrough?

No map, full quest list, or route has been published. Blizzard's September 24 beta notes name three quests, listed above, without an order. A detailed walkthrough would have to rely on unsupported assumptions right now.
