WoW Forever Tauren Classes and Baseline

Tauren are Horde and play four classes: Druid, Hunter, Shaman, and Warrior. Blizzard's Create the Hero Horde table, published September 22, 2026, lists them. Confirmed. It is the original list, and none of the six new pairings involves Tauren, so Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Mage, and Warlock stay unavailable.

The WoW Classic manual names Camp Narache in Mulgore as the starting area, Thunder Bluff as the capital, and those four as the original Tauren classes. Their original roles were Warrior (melee), Hunter (ranged attacker and pet), Shaman (Horde melee, support and healing hybrid), and Druid (healing, spells, and forms). None of that is a Forever tuning claim.

RestedXP already has a Mulgore route for the beta: its addon release notes list a "Mulgore Forever 1-6 update".Source: RestedXP addon releases, v4.11.10, Sep 25, 2026. The RestedXP Forever leveling guide page covers what the paid routes include.

The manual describes Tauren as once-nomadic hunters of kodos who followed the Earth Mother. It adds that Cairne Bloodhoof and the Bloodhoof tribe, with orc aid, drove back the centaur and claimed Mulgore. The manual also says Thunder Bluff became their refuge and the Great Hunt anchors Tauren spiritual culture. That is original WoW lore, not a promise about Forever's story.

September 24 Beta Build Changes

For Tauren, the September 24 change that applies is a level rule on Cultivation: an Herb that needs 150 skill to pick needs player level 30 to Cultivate. Blizzard's September 24 beta development notes add the player-level rule quoted under Cultivation in the panel aboveConfirmed for the beta build. The same notes list a Touch of the Grave change under the Tauren heading, but Blizzard's racial list makes Touch of the Grave an Undead racial, so the Forsaken guide covers it.

What Forever Says About Mulgore's Neighboring Area

Blizzard's What's Next panel recap places Shen'dralas between Mulgore and Desolace, but Tauren involvement and any Mulgore expansion are unknown. Nothing published gives Tauren or level detail for the area's Shen'dralar, Eldre'Thalas, Dire Maul, and centaur ties.

Tauren Racial Traits Explained

Blizzard's September 22 racial article gives Tauren two actives and two passives. Confirmed. Of the four, only Cultivation shows up in the September 24 beta notes, with its new level rule.

War Stomp

Blizzard's September 22 text says War Stomp "Stuns nearby enemies for 2 seconds." The October 15 notes reduce its cooldown to 90 seconds, from 2 minutes. Those notes do not specify a range.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Cultivation and Its Level Rule

Cultivation grows bonus herbs without Herbalism, but in the beta your player level limits which herbs you can grow. It reads "Grow bonus herbs that don't require herbalism to gather."Blizzard: Create the Hero You Want to Be in World of Warcraft: Forever, checked Sep 25, 2026. The September 24 notes add a level gate: you need a player level equal to the herb's required Herbalism skill divided by 5, and herbs over 300 skill open at level 60. Confirmed for the beta build.

Forever hasn't published its herb skill values, so here is the rule applied to Classic Era's values from the Herbalism guide:

Those examples apply the rule to Classic Era values rather than establishing Forever herb values. The October 15 notes reduce Cultivation's cooldown to 15 minutes, from 60 minutes; yield remains unresolved here.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Official wording; realm behavior not tested.

Cultivation needs no Herbalism, so a Tauren can take two crafting professions and still grow some herbs. For example, the beta client lists Peacebloom as a reagent in the Alchemy Mana Well camp object. Reported.

Plainsrunning and Endurance

Blizzard's September 22 Plainsrunning text reads "Gain increased movement speed the longer you stay moving," without a cap. The October 15 notes add 3% mounted movement speed, stacking with other mounted-speed increases, and require a minimum distance moved per second to keep the effect. The developer note says stutter-stepping is no longer sufficient; it does not publish the minimum distance.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Official wording; realm behavior not tested.

Blizzard's September 22 Endurance text read "Total Health increased by 5% and Hit Chance increased by 1%." The October 15 notes replace that hit bonus with 2% increased critical damage and healing. The 5% Health is the older published component; the new bonus is critical damage and healing, not critical strike chance.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Picking a Tauren Class in Forever

Tauren Druid

Tauren and Windshaper Skyborne are the Horde Druid choices in Blizzard's table. The October 15 notes raise Skyborne Wind Blessed to 3% Haste and replace Tauren Endurance's 1% hit with 2% increased critical damage and healing; Endurance retains its published 5% Health. Blizzard's September 22 Skyborne article also describes Druid forms "created specifically for the race." These different effects do not establish a Druid race ranking. See the Druid class guide.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Official wording; realm behavior not tested.

Tauren Hunter and Warrior

Four Horde races can play Hunter in Blizzard's table: Orc, Tauren, Troll and Windshaper Skyborne. Tauren retain the published 5% Health and 2-second War Stomp stun; the October 15 notes replace Endurance's hit with 2% increased critical damage and healing and give War Stomp a 90-second cooldown. These effects do not establish which race levels fastest. See the Hunter class guide.Sources: Blizzard, September 22 racial list for unchanged baseline effects; October 15 beta development notes, post 6, for the stated changes; retained capture Oct 18, 2026. Official wording; realm behavior not tested.

Five Horde races can play Warrior, Undead included. For a Tauren Warrior main, War Stomp adds group crowd control that Orc's shorter stuns and Undead's Will of the Forsaken do not. Cajato's talent walkthroughs list Tauren among the Horde options for both classes and give no Tauren-specific tuning. Reported.

Tauren Shaman and the Tank Read

Tauren is one of four Horde Shaman races, beside Orc, Troll and Windshaper Skyborne, and the only one with a stun.

Dungeon Coach Gaming's Shaman tank video picks Tauren for survivability, Orc for threat and Troll as the hybrid.Source: WoW Forever Shaman Tank Talents, Race, Abilities, Dungeon Coach Gaming, checked Sep 28, 2026. It reads War Stomp as partial cover for the taunt its Shaman build lacks, and calls Plainsrunning close to useless for a tank that holds ground. Reported, one creator's read of a pre-launch build. The Enhancement Shaman page covers the talents behind it.

Leveling a Tauren in Mulgore

In the beta, Mulgore has faster Water Pitcher respawns and a new quest, and RestedXP lists a Mulgore route for levels 1 to 6.

Traviseen starts a Tauren Warrior in Mulgore in the WoW Forever beta, September 18, 2026.

Blizzard's September 24 notes include one Mulgore fix: Water Pitchers for the quest "A Humble Task" now respawn faster. Confirmed for the beta build. The same notes also shorten respawns on other starting-zone quests, from Dun Morogh to Durotar, so expect more tuning of this kind before launch.

In the October 1 beta build, the quest "Kyle's Gone Missing!" has been added in Mulgore. Thunder Bluff now has a barbershop, every barbershop has barbers, and city guards give directions to them. These are confirmed for the beta, and our October 1 notes summary lists the rest.Blizzard: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026.

Paid route addons are covering the zone. RestedXP's release notes, cited above, list a Mulgore Forever update for levels 1 to 6. Zygor Guides says Elite subscribers get its Forever guides at launch and hasn't published any beta routes.
