Finding the Keep
Look for Shadowfang Keep above Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest. Wowhead's Forever reference places the portal north of the village. Its approach advice uses The Sepulcher for Horde players and Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills for Alliance players; check which flight points your character has before setting out.Reported, press or datamine, not confirmedSource: Wowhead Forever: Shadowfang Keep, Location section, checked Oct 3, 2026.
Agree on the destination before your group travels. This is a Silverpine trip; the Ruins of Lordaeron is a separate dungeon. The dungeon index compares the broader Forever lineup.

Level Guidance and Quest Preparation
Wowhead's Forever overview recommends levels 22 to 30 for Shadowfang Keep. Treat that as guide advice, not a Blizzard entry requirement. A quest's required level also differs from its listed quest level and does not establish when a group can comfortably finish the instance.Reported, press or datamine, not confirmedSource: Wowhead Forever overview, Overview section, checked Oct 3, 2026.
These three Horde records are a preparation checklist. Open the linked quest to check its current details, then compare it with your character's quest log. The table does not claim that every starter is available to every character.
| Quest | Required quest level | Preparation context |
|---|---|---|
| The Book of Ur | 16 | Recover a book from the keep for a Forsaken collector. |
| Deathstalkers in Shadowfang | 18 | Investigate the missing scouts Adamant and Vincent. |
| Arugal Must Die | 18 | Check the quest record before committing to its objective. |
The names, faction and required levels come from Wowhead's current Forever quest list. The Book of Ur and Deathstalkers descriptions give the first two objectives.Reported, press or datamine, not confirmedSource: Shadowfang Keep quest list, quest IDs 1013, 1098 and 1014; selected descriptions checked Oct 3, 2026.
The Forsaken Story Thread
The Book of Ur connects the keep to a Dalaran mage's writings sought by the Forsaken. Deathstalkers in Shadowfang follows two scouts sent ahead of an assault. Together, those quest descriptions give a practical reason to prepare your log before traveling, rather than treating the keep solely as a repeatable grind.Reported, press or datamine, not confirmedSource: The Book of Ur and Deathstalkers in Shadowfang, Description sections, checked Oct 3, 2026.
Fitting a Run Into Leveling
The October 1 update halved the extra experience dungeon quests award above normal quest values. That change concerns the bonus, not a blanket halving of all quest XP. See the dungeon XP guide before planning repeated runs around older reward assumptions.Source: Blizzard beta development notes, Quests section, checked Oct 3, 2026.

Shadowfang Keep FAQ
Is Shadowfang Keep available in the Forever beta?
Yes. Blizzard's October 1 development notes list it among the dungeons already available; that listing was checked October 3. It describes beta content access, not a guarantee of realm uptime.
Does a level 16 quest mean I should run the dungeon at 16?
No. That is the database requirement for The Book of Ur. Wowhead's overview recommends 22 to 30 for the dungeon; neither number is presented here as a server entry gate.
Is this a complete boss or loot guide?
This reference covers the destination and selected quest preparation. It does not provide an encounter route, drop table, or complete quest chain.
