Search the captured dataset by class, Forever snapshot name or talent ID, then inspect the source status and each available rank.
How to Use This Comparison
Choose a class, use the Change filter, search by the Forever snapshot name or talent ID, then select one result to read each available rank beside its Classic Era counterpart. Use Copy Link to preserve the class, status, query and selected record.
This page compares talents only. It does not compare abilities, items, professions, builds or live server state. Without JavaScript, browse class changes, the class guide or the talent trees and calculator.
Read the Row Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Changed / reworked | The source marks this pair changed after case-only differences are normalized. This describes source data, not live-game behavior. |
| Unchanged | The paired records match after the source reader normalizes case-only rows. |
| New in this Forever snapshot | The source marks the Forever row new and has no paired Classic rank record. That does not rule out a similar Classic effect. |
| Removed from comparison | An explicit Classic baseline row has no counterpart in this Forever snapshot. It does not prove a current in-game removal. |
| Unresolved | A source note for that record remains open; read the warning and its cited source before drawing a conclusion. |
For example, rank 1 of Improved Heroic Strike reads “Reduces the cost of your Heroic Strike ability by 1 Rage.” on the Forever side and “Reduces the cost of your Heroic Strike ability by 1 rage point.” on the Classic Era side. The source labels the pair changed; this wording difference alone does not establish a combat change.
The Forever text shown for a record can include a dated Blizzard correction. The Changed or Unchanged status still compares the original 1.60.1.70009 client record with the Classic Era record after case-only normalization; corrected display text does not silently change that status.
Coverage and Source Versions
The WoW Forever Guides comparison projection contains 467 Forever records, 111 marked new and 356 paired Classic Era records; it also keeps 75 explicit Era-only records. After WFG folds seven case-only rows: 274 changed, 82 unchanged. The upstream page lists 281 changed and 75 the same. Those upstream “same” rows are not the 75 explicit Era-only records.
The paired tooltip source is WoW Forever beta client build 1.60.1.70009 and Classic Era build 1.15.9.69722. The Forever dataset was retrieved on September 25, 2026. The local source mapping was checked on October 8, 2026. Dated Blizzard corrections in the saved source record run through October 2, 2026. The Forever name is the snapshot name; the separate talent planner applies later updates verified against client build 1.60.1.70170.
A separate calculator-structure snapshot uses build 1.60.1.70205 and was checked October 3, 2026. It is not the tooltip build compared here, and this page does not present complete 70205 tooltip text. On October 8, Blizzard's beta client version endpoint listed build 1.60.1.70245; this comparison has not been reconciled against that build.
Source Limits
The source preserves the Classic name for 29 renamed pairs. The other 327 pairs have no separate Classic name, so the panel uses the generic Classic Era label. The panel shows each side's maximum rank; when one side has fewer ranks, the table identifies the missing rank.
Four records have incomplete Forever tooltip text. Resourcefulness ranks 1-2 and Demonic Brand ranks 1-3 retain unresolved [?] tokens; Riposte rank 1 includes [?] for its disarm duration; Call of Thunder rank 1 has an empty source tooltip rendered as the explicit no-tooltip message. The separate 70205 structure review lists 12 Warrior nodes where October 2 move/removal notes conflict with the 70205 layout, and excludes two off-grid duplicate records. These are calculator-placement notes, not tooltip results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does “changed” mean the talent works differently?
No. It reports a difference in the source record. The data does not establish live behavior, learnability or current server availability.
Does “new in this snapshot” mean Classic has no similar effect?
No. It means this Forever row has no paired Classic Era rank record in this dataset.
Is this comparing 1.60.1.70205 tooltip text?
No. The paired tooltip baseline is 1.60.1.70009. The checked 1.60.1.70205 source covers calculator structure, not a complete new tooltip extraction. Blizzard's version endpoint listed 1.60.1.70245 on October 8, 2026; this comparison has not been checked against that build.
Does a baseline-only row prove a current removal?
No. It is an explicit one-sided source record, not evidence of present-day gameplay or server state.
