Naming Your Forsaken

If you're looking for a Forsaken or undead Paladin name, the character name generator opens with a Forsaken-inspired style and a holy theme. Reroll either half and save backups. The suggestions are original naming ideas with client preparation checks and no availability guarantee.

Touch of the Grave Numbers

The October 15 notes say Touch of the Grave's proc chance and cooldown were adjusted, without giving replacement numbers. Older community figures should not be used as its current proc chance. The same notes separately name Touch of the Dead; this page does not assume the two names are interchangeable.Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Official announcement, not a gameplay test.

September 24 Beta Build Changes

In the beta build, Touch of the Grave no longer breaks crowd control, and spells and abilities that have no damage component no longer activate it. Blizzard's September 24 beta development notes made the change, Confirmed for the beta build. The September 24 notes list this change under Races; Blizzard's September 22 article identifies Touch of the Grave as the Undead racial.

CaseTouch of the Grave in the beta build
Shadow Word: PainActivates on cast, not on periodic damage
DistractDoes not activate it, so it cannot pull Rogues or Druids out of Stealth
PickpocketDoes not activate it
PolymorphAlready did not break it; can no longer activate it

Undead Priests also have a racial spell in the build, Dark Sacrifice. It no longer breaks crowd control that breaks on damage, and its tooltip now says the Mana you gain scales with Spirit. Blizzard's September 22 racial list doesn't include it, and its full effect isn't published. The Priest guide has the other Priest changes.

October 1 Beta Build Changes

In the October 1 notes, Cannibalize cannot be used while immune to Physical damage. This is the October 1 change; the later October 15 changes follow below. Blizzard's October 1 beta notes add that one Undead rule: "Cannibalize cannot be used if the caster is IMMUNE to Physical damage." Confirmed for the beta build.Blizzard: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026.

October 15 Beta Racial Changes

Blizzard's October 15 beta notes state the following for Undead:Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Official announcement, not a gameplay test.

Touch of the Grave: proc chance and cooldown adjusted for a more consistent benefit, with visual improvements; no replacement values are stated.

  • Will of the Forsaken: unavailable while under Scatter Shot.

Touch of the Dead: 30% activation chance for casters and 20% for Paladins, Rogues, and Warriors, with a 25-second internal cooldown. It no longer scales with Shadow increases on the target or caster, and Touch of the Dead no longer suffers a decreased multiplier when a lower-ranked spell is used.

Those last values belong to the note's exact name, Touch of the Dead. The retained 1.60.1.70450 client names spells 1260189 and 1260201 Touch of the Grave and stores 20% and 30% proc rows, both with 25000 milliseconds of proc recovery. That numerical overlap does not establish a rename or mapping between the two note names, nor does it prove live behavior. The name mapping remains unresolved.

Found Photos Preview: A Planned Forsaken Paladin Journey

Blizzard's New Race & Class Combos video gives most of its four minutes to the Undead Paladin, September 28, 2026.

Blizzard plans a Forsaken Paladin path framed around Retribution, with a level-60 epic mount quest. The Found Photos recap adds story and progression context for the announced pairing:

The recap calls them former paladins, deeply mistrusted by other Forsaken, still learning what it means to channel the Light in undeath. Bandarion Keep, in the Whispering Wood of Tirisfal Glades, is a key location for that experience. The article uses Retribution to frame the path and says the class will have a level-60 epic mount quest. The official @Warcraft steed post backs up the mount direction.

These details are announced and planned. The Paladin spell list and final tuning are still open. The class guide reports a community read of the Holy, Protection and Retribution trees.

Forsaken Paladin and Undead Paladin are the same option; Battle.net and Blizzard's recap just use different names.

Where Forsaken Characters Begin

Forsaken start in Tirisfal Glades. The site's leveling zones guide lists Tirisfal at levels 1 to 10 and Silverpine Forest at 10 to 20, the familiar Undead route. Blizzard's September 24 beta notes make one change here: Pyrewood Village worgen in Silverpine now respawn more quickly.

Ruins of Lordaeron Sits in the Silverpine Bracket

Ruins of Lordaeron is in the beta at levels 15 to 20, one of two dungeons added in week one beside Hall of Thanes at 13 to 18. Blizzard's beta announcement opened testing on September 17, 2026 with a level 20 cap, planned to rise to 30 later in the beta. Blizzard raised the cap to 30 with the October 1 beta update.Confirmed, a first-party sourceSource: Blizzard forums: Beta Update Maintenance - October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026.

That range overlaps Silverpine, so a Forsaken reaches Lordaeron on the normal leveling path. The What's Next recap describes the run as helping the Forsaken reclaim the ruins but does not list bosses or loot. The dungeons guide covers queue and group rules.

The September 22 Undead Racial List

Undead get two active racials, Will of the Forsaken and Cannibalize, and two passives, Underwater Breathing and Touch of the Grave. Create the Hero gives every race two active and two passive racials, each with a one-line tooltip. The September 22 Undead lines, verbatim, before the beta changes described above:

"Will of the Forsaken: Removes Charm, Fear, and Sleep."Blizzard: Create the Hero You Want to Be in World of Warcraft: Forever, checked Sep 25, 2026.

"Cannibalize: Consume corpses to regenerate 35% Health and Mana over time."Blizzard: Create the Hero You Want to Be in World of Warcraft: Forever, checked Sep 25, 2026.

"Underwater Breathing (Passive): Breathe 300% longer underwater."Blizzard: Create the Hero You Want to Be in World of Warcraft: Forever, checked Sep 25, 2026.

"Touch of the Grave (Passive): Sometimes drain health with your attacks."Blizzard: Create the Hero You Want to Be in World of Warcraft: Forever, checked Sep 25, 2026.

What Changed From Classic Era

Will of the Forsaken still removes Charm, Fear and Sleep, but no longer grants immunity to those effects. Cannibalize now restores Mana as well as Health. Underwater Breathing is unchanged, and Touch of the Grave is new. The Deep Dive recap covers what changed. Confirmed.

MetaGoblin's table marks Touch of the Grave as new and Will of the Forsaken as a break, not an immunity window. Its Touch of the Grave line predates the September 24 trigger change and October 15 adjustments; the corpse types it lists for Cannibalize are not in Blizzard's quoted September tooltip.Source: MetaGoblin, every racial analysed

Losing the immunity matters most in PvP. Classic Era's version also shielded you from a follow-up fear while it lasted. Blizzard's wording says it clears existing Charm, Fear, and Sleep. The October 15 note adds that Will of the Forsaken is unavailable during Scatter Shot, so it cannot be used then.Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Official announcement, not a gameplay test.

Matching the Kit to a Class

Mages, Warlocks, Paladins and Priests get both halves of Cannibalize; a Forsaken Warrior or Rogue gets only the Health half. Blizzard's recap names those classes as the ones that benefit from the Mana half. The quoted September 22 tooltips list no cooldowns, and Cannibalize's line does not say which corpses qualify. The October 15 note separately gives Touch of the Dead a 25-second internal cooldown; that value is not assigned to Touch of the Grave here. Classic Era allowed only Humanoid and Undead corpses; Blizzard hasn't said whether Forever keeps that limit.

Forsaken Paladins and Warcraft III: Forsaken Kingdom

The Forsaken Paladin in Forsaken Kingdom is a strategy-game hero, not the WoW race and class pairing. Blizzard's BlizzCon roundup announces Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom, a separate Warcraft III campaign with a neutral hero unit called Forsaken Paladin.

The two are linked through the story, though. The Found Photos recap says the Forever Paladin path "rolls directly out of the new Warcraft III campaign Forsaken Kingdom."Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever Found Photos Panel Recap, checked Sep 13, 2026. It begins while these former paladins are still mistrusted by other Forsaken. Blizzard hasn't said whether playing the campaign unlocks anything in Forever. The $79.99 Warcraft Forever Collection on Battle.net bundles Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign with Forever's Epic Pack contents.

What a Forsaken Paladin Inherits From the Class

An Undead Paladin carries the same gaps and the same edge as any Forever Paladin, since none of that changes by race. The Deep Dive recap says Forever Paladins still lack an interrupt, still cannot slow targets the way some classes can, and still reach their taunt through Seals and Judgment. It also says they stay strong against Undead and Demons through Exorcism, Holy Wrath and Turn Undead. The Paladin class guide has tree reads and spec notes.

Grouping and Legacy Challenges for a Forsaken Character

Outside battlegrounds, your Forsaken can only group with players on the same ruleset. Blizzard's ruleset article limits groups, dungeons and raids to players on the same ruleset. A Forsaken on Normal can't run Ruins of Lordaeron with a guildmate who rolled PvP or Roleplaying. Battlegrounds are the exception and can mix rulesets, except Hardcore, which arrives sometime after launch.

The PvP ruleset adds a faction lock. Once you create a Forsaken there, that account can only make Horde characters on PvP. Normal and Roleplaying allow both factions. The realmless rulesets guide covers the full rules.

Legacy Points From a Forsaken

The Legacy system counts Forsaken progress like any other race's. Its 65 challenges are account-wide. Each class pays one point apiece at levels 25, 45 and 60, so a Forsaken Paladin earns the Paladin points. Ruins of Lordaeron, at 15 to 20, falls in the Dungeons band, which pays one point for killing the final boss of every level 15 to 25 dungeon.

What Is Still Unknown

The current Touch of the Grave values and its relationship to the name Touch of the Dead remain unresolved. Other questions retained from the earlier source review are listed below.

Current official Touch of the Grave proc chance, amount, and cooldown; the October 15 note gives no replacement numbers under that name.

  • Forsaken Paladin spell art, animations, and voices.
  • Forsaken Paladin customizations or an unlock rule.
  • Ruins of Lordaeron bosses and loot.

The October 15 note gives Touch of the Dead a 25-second internal cooldown but does not resolve the separate Touch of the Grave values or name mapping. Blizzard lists Ruins of Lordaeron at levels 15 to 20.

A September 28, 2026 review found no published Forsaken-specific Forever route. At that time, the RestedXP WoW Forever guide was on sale and in development, while Zygor's Forever launch announcement said its guides would begin at launch. Forsaken FAQ

Can Forsaken be Paladins in WoW Forever?

Yes. The Deep Dive recap lists Undead Paladin among six new combinations, and Battle.net names Forsaken Paladin. That confirms the pairing, but not a Paladin build, role promise, spell list, or unlock rule. The Paladin guide has class-level reports.

What classes can Forsaken play?

Six: Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior. Blizzard's September 22 Horde table lists them, and Paladin is the new one.

Are WoW Forever Forsaken racials confirmed?

Blizzard's September 22 list gives Will of the Forsaken, Cannibalize, Underwater Breathing and Touch of the Grave. October 15 notes stop Will of the Forsaken under Scatter Shot, adjust Touch of the Grave and give Touch of the Dead class-specific procs and a 25-second internal cooldown; the names are unreconciled.
