WoW Forever class changes vs Classic: every confirmed change, with sources

Blizzard September 24 beta notes, with earlier beta values distinguished from Classic baselines.

Checked 3 facts, 0 from Blizzard

When an ability changes, a tooltip alone cannot show whether it differs from Classic or an earlier Forever build. This guide lists the September 24 beta class changes; Blizzard’s ‘was’ values refer to earlier beta values, not Classic baselines. The reported client mismatch is marked separately.

Quick answer

Blizzard’s September 24 beta notes update abilities, talents, and fixes across all nine classes; this guide separates that build from Classic baselines.

Retribution Aura scales with caster spell power. Blizzard fixed Flash of Light’s cast animation, Consecration damage and targeting, and Echo of Justice’s excess activation chance.

Righteous Fury’s Holy threat bonus fell to 60% (was 90%); Vengeance triggers on non-periodic crits and caps at 3 stacks (was 5). Two-Handed Weapon Specialization: 2/4/6% (was 3/6/9%). Sacred Arbiter adds 20% Holy Strike damage (was 10%); Twist of Light cuts Seal Mana costs 20%.

Rogue

Sap now flags the Rogue for PvP when used on a PvP-flagged target.

Shaman

Lightning Bolt ranks 3/4 gained damage; Windfury Totem and Flametongue Totem buffs display those names. Flametongue Totem has no duration and is replaced instantly; it cannot stack with itself or Flametongue Weapon/Windfury Totem. Tranquil Air, Windfury, and Grace of Air Totems no longer stack across Shamans.

Elemental Fury/Alacrity swapped rows. Lava Burst ranks 1/2 gained ~10% base damage over the nearby-level Lightning Bolt rank. Rage of the Far Seer lost its spell-casting-speed effect; Riptide can crit.

Warlock

Life Tap’s tooltip shows Life converted and Spirit scaling only. Voidwalker Sacrifice scales with 10% of Warlock spell healing.

Warrior

Sunder Armor threat was corrected across ranks, with a small Attack Power increase. Blizzard swaps Bastion Row 5 and Focused Rage Row 6. Bloodthrill: 4/8/12/16/20% (was 2/4/6/8/10%), Main Hand only (including Cleave/Heroic Strike). Slam: 18 sec (was 15); Improved Slam cuts its cooldown by 1.5/3 sec.

Planned and reported

Planned: Blizzard will use the Elemental move’s space for future Enhancement additions; no ability or date yet.

Reported conflict: Client build 1.60.1.70009 retains Bastion Row 5 and Focused Rage Row 6, despite Blizzard’s reported swap.
