Notes

  • Current tree read: WoW Forever Talents records 18 Arcane entries in client build 1.60.1.70009 against Classic Era 1.15.9.69722: two new, 13 reworked, three unchanged and none removed. This is a community client read, not a Blizzard-published tree. Open the Mage dataset.
  • WoW Forever vs Classic Era: The client read marks Arcane Blast and Missile Barrage as new and records 13 reworked and three unchanged talents against Classic Era. Those classifications are reported by the community dataset.
  • Arcane Blast has a source conflict: Esfand's 1:58 in-game tooltip capture shows 95 to 104 Arcane damage. The later build 1.60.1.70009 community read says 57 to 66. Both reads show 10% more damage to other spells and 175% higher Arcane Blast mana cost per cast, up to four stacks; the effect lasts 8 seconds or until another damage spell is cast. The sources reviewed here do not explain the damage difference.
  • Missile Barrage: Esfand's 2:50 tooltip capture and the current client read show 40% proc chance from Arcane Blast, 20% from Fireball, Frostbolt or Frostfire Bolt, a channel duration cut of 50%, 100% lower mana cost and missiles every 0.5 seconds.
  • Arcane Power: Esfand's 7:20 full-tree capture places it at the 31-point gate.
  • Confirmed: Blizzard's September 24 beta notes say Arcane Missiles checks line of sight once at the start of the channel. Moving out of sight during the channel does not stop the remaining missiles.
  • Planned: The reviewed September 24 Mage notes do not announce a future Arcane tree or talent-value change. That only describes this post; it does not establish what may be announced later.

What is still unknown

  • Why Esfand's September 14 Arcane Blast screenshot reads 95 to 104 damage while client build 1.60.1.70009 reads 57 to 66.
  • Whether the beta's talent text and values will remain the same for launch.
  • Whether Blizzard will publish a full Arcane tree or a planned Arcane talent update.
