Orc in WoW Forever: Classes and Racials
Orcs are a Horde race. Blizzard's Create the Hero article, published September 22, 2026, lists the classes Orcs can play and their racials.
The official Orc race page lists the original set: Blood Fury, Command, Axe Specialization, and Hardiness. Warcraft Tavern reported Shatter Curse from the demo floor before Blizzard published it. The Mage guide covers Orc Mage from the class side, and the race roster compares every race.
The first roadmap image, since deleted, listed two unnamed race-and-class combinations for spring, and Blizzard's current roadmap graphic doesn'tUnverified, community material only.
What Remains Unknown
Blizzard's October 15 beta notes give Blood Fury a 3-minute cooldown and Shatter Curse a 5% magic-damage reduction. The note does not restate Shatter Curse's duration or cooldown. The spring combinations remain unresolved.
Official current duration and cooldown for Shatter Curse; the retained client stores values separately.
- Whether the unnamed spring combinations are still planned.
- Whether either spring combination includes Orc.
- New Orc customizations or a starting-zone change.
Shatter Curse's duration and cooldown below are reported client storage, not official post-6 values or a live test. The retained roadmap sources do not resolve either spring combination.

Which Classes Fit an Orc in Forever
Blizzard's Horde table lets Orc play six classes: Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior. Five of them were Orc options in Classic Era. Mage is new, announced on September 22, 2026 with five other new pairings.
Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Warlock
Orc can still play all four, as it has since the original game. Forever's changes for each class are in the Warrior class guide, Hunter class guide, Rogue class guide, and Warlock class guide.
Classic Era's Command raised Hunter and Warlock pet damage by 5%. Blizzard's September 22 Orc list instead names Shatter Curse, while Blood Fury adds both Attack Power and Spell Power. Those descriptions alone do not establish which class gains or loses the most.
Shaman: The Hybrid Pick, and One Creator's Tank Read
Orc can play Shaman in Blizzard's table, alongside Tauren, Troll, and Windshaper Skyborne on the Horde side. On the Alliance side, only Dwarf can. The Shaman class guide tracks the spec and talent changes in Forever.

That is a historical creator impression from auto-generated captions, before the October 15 changes to Blood Fury, Shatter Curse, and Axe Specialization; it is not a current class ranking.
Mage: The New Pairing
Orc can be a Mage in Forever: Blizzard's September 22 tables and the earlier Deep Dive panel recap both list Orc Mage among six new combinations. The beta client's race and class table has an Orc and Mage row that the Classic Era client lacks, which backs it up from the data side.

That is a historical demo capture from before Axe Specialization became Savage on October 15.

Blizzard's own sentence names the whole set of new pairings together:
Blizzard
Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests, Dwarf Shamans, and the debut of the Skyborne
Orc Racials, Spelled Out
The updated Orc set is Blood Fury, Shatter Curse, Savage, and Hardiness. Blizzard's October 15 beta notes replace Axe Specialization with Savage and change both actives. The September 22 quotations below are preserved as history; the current changes follow each quotation. Client comparisons use retained build 1.60.1.70450 storage and are Reported, without a hotfix overlay or gameplay test.Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Blood Fury and Shatter Curse: The Active Pair
The September 22 Blood Fury description remains the effect baseline. Shatter Curse now dispels Curses and Banes instead of granting immunity, and reduces magic damage taken by 5%.
Blizzard
Blood Fury: Increases Attack Power and Spell Power by 10% for 15 seconds.
In Classic Era, Blood Fury raised base melee attack power by 25% for 15 seconds and cut healing received by 50%. Forever's version is smaller, but it has no healing penalty and helps casters too. The October 15 notes increase its cooldown to 3 minutes, from 2. Build 1.60.1.70450 stores 180000 milliseconds for spell 20572, matching that note.Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Official announcement, not a gameplay test.
Blizzard
Shatter Curse: Immunity to Curses and Banes and reduce Magical damage taken for 8 seconds.
That September 22 immunity wording is historical. The October 15 notes say Shatter Curse now dispels Curses and Banes and reduces magic damage taken by 5%, down from 15%. Build 1.60.1.70450 spell 1299026 agrees on the dispel wording and stores the reduction at 5%; its 8-second duration and 3-minute cooldown are Reported client values. The note itself does not restate those timings, and this page has no gameplay test.Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Official announcement, not a gameplay test.
Savage and Hardiness: The Passive Pair
Savage adds 1% critical strike chance. Hardiness shortens stuns instead of resisting them. The Axe Specialization quotation below is the superseded September 22 version.
Blizzard
Axe Specialization (Passive): Axes increase spell and ability critical chance by 1%.
Classic Era's version added 5 skill with axes. The October 15 notes replace Axe Specialization with Savage: 1% increased critical strike chance, with no axe requirement in that note. Build 1.60.1.70450 spell 20574 is named Savage and describes critical strike chance with all spells and abilities.Source: Blizzard, October 15 beta notes, post 6 racial section; retained capture retrieved Oct 18, 2026. Official announcement, not a gameplay test.
Blizzard
Hardiness (Passive): Stun durations decreased by 20%.
Classic Era's Hardiness gave you an extra 25% chance to resist stuns. Forever's version always works but only shortens the stun, so it's more predictable in PvP.
Technical Notes
- Blizzard's Hardiness text names no battlegrounds or PvP exception; it reads only "Stun durations decreased by 20%."

Leveling and Starting Options for Orc
Orcs start in Durotar in Classic Era, and Blizzard hasn't published an Orc starting-zone change or a Forever zone-by-level table. The site's leveling zone guide uses the original brackets as a planning baseline: Durotar for 1 to 10, then The Barrens, with Stonetalon Mountains and Silverpine Forest as other Horde options in the 10 to 20 range.
The September 24 beta notes mention Durotar: the escort NPC for "Lost in the Shadows"
now respawns faster.Blizzard: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, Updated September 24, checked Sep 28, 2026. The October 1 notes mention Orgrimmar instead: Smooth Boulder "should be far more plentiful and available to gather"

Confirmed for the beta build.Blizzard: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026. For a step-by-step route, Zygor's Forever guides are planned for launch, and RestedXP's addon already lists a Durotar Forever update. Zygor vs RestedXP compares the two leveling guides.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which racial did Orc lose for Forever?
Command, the Classic Era pet damage bonus, was omitted from Blizzard's September 22 set. The October 15 notes also replace Axe Specialization with Savage; the updated set is Blood Fury, Shatter Curse, Savage, and Hardiness.
Can Orc still play Warlock and Warrior?
Yes. Blizzard's Horde table keeps Orc paired with Warlock, Warrior, Hunter, and Rogue, same as Classic, and adds the new Mage option.
Does Shatter Curse's magic damage reduction have a published number?
Yes. Blizzard's October 15 beta notes specify 5% less magic damage taken and dispelling Curses and Banes. They do not restate the duration or cooldown; build 1.60.1.70450 stores 8 seconds and 3 minutes, which remain reported client values.
Is the Orc Mage pairing only a rumor?
No. Blizzard's own Create the Hero article and Horde race and class table both list it, and the beta client's race and class data pairs the two as well.
Where do Orc characters start leveling?
In Classic Era, Durotar. Blizzard has not published a Forever zone table or announced a starting-zone change for Orc.
Are the two unnamed spring 2027 combinations confirmed for Orc?
No. A deleted roadmap image listed two unnamed combinations; Blizzard's current roadmap graphic does not repeat them, and neither source ever named Orc.
