WoW Forever reputations and factions

The named reputation systems, the Classic tiers under them, and the factions with no published grind yet.

Checked 6 facts, 3 from Blizzard

A faction name is not automatically a reputation grind. This page starts with the Classic reputation tiers Forever builds on, then lists every faction Blizzard or its developers tie to progression, and leaves reward tables blank where they are unpublished.

Quick answer

Named WoW Forever reputations are a Darkspear Islands battleground reputation and two trade factions: the Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics. The Diplomat Legacy perk raises gains.

How reputation works in Classic

Forever is built on original World of Warcraft, so the Classic system is the baseline to expect until Blizzard says otherwise. Every faction tracks your standing on eight tiers. You earn points by completing a faction's quests, killing its enemies, and turning in items it wants.

TierPoints to next tier (Classic baseline)
Hated36,000
Hostile3,000
Unfriendly3,000
Neutral3,000
Friendly6,000
Honored12,000
Revered21,000
ExaltedTop tier

Thresholds from warcraft.wiki.gg's reputation page. Going from Neutral to Exalted takes 42,000 points. Most factions stop giving reputation for kills at some point, so the last tiers usually need item turn-ins or repeatable quests. Some factions are paired enemies: in Desolace, killing Magram centaurs raises Gelkis standing and the reverse, so you commit to one side.

The two trade factions

The Legacy article calls the Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics "two new Alliance and Horde factions" and "a major source of new tradeskill activities." The article does not say which is which, though Durotar is a Horde zone.

You gain Merchant's Favor from them, and the Performance bonus perk in the Professions tree "causes you to sometimes gain increased Merchant's Favor" (confirmed). If you plan to level professions on one character, these factions are likely the reputation that matters most for crafting. Blizzard has not published whether Merchant's Favor uses the standard tier bar or a separate currency.

Darkspear Islands and battleground reputations

Darkspear Islands is a planned 15 vs 15 battleground off Kalimdor, and the developer Q&A describes "a brand new reputation" for it. The Legacy system's Player vs. Player category awards 4 points for reaching "Exalted with each Battleground reputation" (confirmed). Classic had three battleground reputation pairs: Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, and Alterac Valley.

Adding Darkspear Islands would make four, which matches the point count, but Blizzard does not list the four by name. See the Darkspear Islands guide and the PvP hub.

Riverglades

In the What's Next panel video, the narrator describes Riverglades as having "content for both Horde and Alliance players, new reputations." That wording comes from automatic captions, not the written recap, so treat it as (reported) until a faction is named. The Riverglades guide tracks the zone.

Changes to how you earn reputation

Human Diplomacy is gone. In Classic, Humans had Diplomacy, a 10% reputation bonus, per warcraft.wiki.gg's reputation page. Blizzard's Create the Hero article lists four Human racials: Will to Survive, Perception, Sword Specialization, and The Human Spirit (confirmed). Diplomacy is not among them. See the Human guide.

Diplomat replaces it for everyone. The Resourcefulness tree's Diplomat perk increases reputation gains on any race. Blizzard has not published its percentage or ranks. Each character can spend only 16 Legacy points at launch, so Diplomat competes with perks like Reagent Economy and Gourmand. Take it on the character that will grind reputation; skip it on alts that won't.

The Legacy guide covers the full tree.

Classic reputations to expect

These factions defined Classic endgame. Blizzard has not said whether each one carries over unchanged, so treat this table as the Classic Era baseline, not a Forever list.

Two Forever additions touch these factions directly. The Shen'dralas zone is tied to the Shen'dralar and Eldre'Thalas, the city Dire Maul occupies. The Desolace update adds faction rewards to the centaur quests. Neither announcement says the Classic reputation bars change. The Legacy Adventure category also awards a point for the Lord Valthalak dungeon set questline, a Classic dungeon-set upgrade chain.

Planning around reputation now

  • Pick one crafter for a trade faction
  • Save Diplomat for your reputation main
  • Queue Darkspear Islands for its reputation
  • Don't pre-farm Classic items for unconfirmed factions

Still unannounced

Modern WoW players often expect reputation features Classic never had. None of these has a Forever source yet (not announced):

  • Account-wide or warband reputation
  • Championing tabards for dungeon reputation
  • Paragon rewards past Exalted
  • Reputation catch-up for alts

Hardcore adds one known wrinkle. The Legacy article says PvP challenges, including battleground Exalted, cannot be completed in Hardcore, and Hardcore will get 12 challenges of its own (confirmed).

Reputations FAQ

What new reputations are in WoW Forever?

Named so far: Darkspear Islands, the Azeroth Commerce Authority, and Durotar Supply and Logistics. Desolace centaur rewards, Riverglades, and Mount Hyjal factions are described without names or tiers.

Do Humans still get a reputation bonus?

No racial bonus is listed. Blizzard's four Human racials do not include Diplomacy. The Legacy perk Diplomat is available to every race.

Are the Classic reputation tiers the same?

Blizzard has not published Forever thresholds, so the Classic tiers are the working assumption.

Every row carries its evidence tier: Confirmed, Planned, Reported, Unverified or Not announced. Where sources disagree, both stay on the page. How we verify
