Find the Entrance

Travel southwest from the Crossroads toward the Lushwater Oasis. The instance portal is inside the cave system. Players commonly shorten Wailing Caverns to WC. Prepare your WC quests before meeting the group. Ratchet, Thunder Bluff and the cave above the entrance each have useful quest starts.

Prepare Quests

These are selected quest starts from Wowhead's Forever guide. • Deviate Hides: Nalpak, cave above the WC entrance. Available to both factions; collect it before heading farther into the caves.
• Deviate Eradication: Ebru, cave above the WC entrance. Another quest available to both factions near the dungeon.
• Smart Drinks: Mebok Mizzyrix, Ratchet. Complete Raptor Horns from Mebok first.
• Trouble at the Docks: Crane Operator Bigglefuzz, Ratchet. Its target is in the caves outside the instance.
• Serpentbloom: Apothecary Zamah, Pools of Vision, Thunder Bluff. Plan the city pickup before traveling to WC.
• Leaders of the Fang: Nara Wildmane, Elder Rise, Thunder Bluff. Finish Tonga Runetotem's Barrens investigation first.

Start Leaders of the Fang While Questing in the Barrens

The chain begins with Tonga Runetotem at the Crossroads, investigating the Barrens' oases. After that investigation, the chain sends you to Thunder Bluff, where Nara Wildmane gives the dungeon quest. Serpentbloom in the Current Beta

Blizzard's October 1 update says Serpentbloom Snakes despawn after a couple of minutes. Why go into Wailing Caverns?

Naralex, a night elf druid, hoped to restore the Barrens using the caverns' springs and the Emerald Dream. His dream became a nightmare: the waters and creatures changed, and his former acolytes became the Druids of the Fang. Fit the Run Into Your Leveling Route

The recommended 15–25 range covers a broad stretch of leveling. Choose the quest stops that fit your character: picking up Ratchet quests while already in town takes a different detour from traveling to Thunder Bluff solely for a dungeon pickup.

Blizzard reduced the extra experience above normal quest values from dungeon quests by 50% on October 1. Compare the current rewards with your travel time rather than assuming the older dungeon-quest bonus still applies.Source: Blizzard's October 1 beta notes, Quests; checked October 3, 2026.
