Why take Frost for a solo plan?

Frost is our cautious solo recommendation because the reported tree pairs Chill and Frozen-target talents with defensive tools such as Ice Block and Ice Barrier. That makes a control-focused plan on paper, not a tested speed ranking. The route below reaches Ice Barrier with its prerequisite, Cold Snap, already selected.

Where do the 51 talent points go?

This recommendation spends all 51 points in Frost by level 60. Its level labels use the calculator's standard one-point-per-level schedule from 10 to 60, with no Legacy Talented perk. Follow the point count if that perk moves your unlocks earlier.

The first 30 points open the Frost capstone row. Point 31 takes Ice Barrier; the route already has Cold Snap, its reported prerequisite. Fingers of Frost follows Ice Lance, its prerequisite in the current read. After the capstone, the final 20 points finish hit, damage, range, mana, and chill talents. That order is our recommendation, not an optimized result.

Blizzard's Legacy Talented perk can unlock points up to five levels earlier than normal. Keep the order and point totals, but use your character's actual point count instead of assuming the level labels apply to every character. The Legacy guide explains the perk.

What zone brackets should a Mage follow?

Use the faction route as a scaffold rather than a Mage-only itinerary. These are Classic Era baseline anchors from the WoW Forever leveling zones guide; that page gives exact level ranges and keeps later Forever additions separate.

Blizzard places Riverglades in the mid-30s to mid-40s. Treat it as a planned Forever option alongside those baseline brackets, not a required Mage stop. Zone additions and their evidence labels are on the full route map.

Who can roll a Mage in Forever?

Blizzard's race and class tables list these six Mage pairings. Orc Mage is a new pairing in the Forever tables; the list does not rank the races by leveling performance.

What did Blizzard update for Mages on September 24?
