What Blizzard Has Confirmed

In the Deep Dive Panel Recap, Blizzard revealed full details for the Camping system:

  • The Basic Campfire: Camping expands the simple Cooking Fire.
  • Campsite amenities: rest, vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and one-hour buffs.
  • Crafted object limits: up to three special objects per campfire.
  • Profession contributions: three different campsite objects per profession:
  • Blacksmiths: Can place a Sharpening Wheel that increases Attack Power.
  • Tailors: Can place a Faction Banner that increases Spirit.
  • Herbalists: Can place an Incense Candle that increases Intellect.
  • Alchemists: Can place an Alchemy Lab workspace.
  • Leatherworkers: Can place a Tanning Rack required for advanced recipes.
  • Cooks: Can learn upgraded Campfires for five or 10 objects.
  • Class buff interactions: stat buffs never stack with class buffs.
  • Progression and Blueprints: first objects at skill level 20.
  • Legacy system integration: account-wide perks like reduced campfire cooldowns.

Place a Basic Campfire and you get an open-world campsite where adventurers can pause and rest. Sit by the fire for a few moments to get rested and earn the buffs. It's also the natural hub to refresh food buffs, which supports rested experience while leveling. Nearby players add the crafted objects to a Basic Campfire: each player can place one object, and those objects share a one-hour cooldown.

Every profession learns its objects at different skill tiers, as set out in the eight named tradeskills. Campsite stat buffs are variants of specific class buffs. You learn your first campsite objects from special camping-introduction NPCs or profession trainers. More advanced objects come from Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses in the nine launch dungeons.

An official Legacy short confirms that account-wide Legacy progression includes these perks. Those perks sit in the Adventure, Professions, and Resourcefulness trees, and every Forever system in one table shows where camping sits beside them.

Rested XP on this page means the game's rest bonus. The RestedXP leveling addon is a separate paid guide. RestedXP for WoW Forever covers what it sells for this version.

Campfire Buffs in the Beta

Blizzard's September 24 beta development notes show Campfire buffs working in the beta and loosen the rules for earning one:

  • Buff others, cast, and craft while you wait.
  • Casting or crafting no longer stands you up.
  • Sitting, a chair, sleeping, lying down, or kneeling all count.

These are Confirmed for the beta build and can change before launch.

  • Boosted Rest debuff has a new icon and clearer tooltip.
  • Camping text now says "mutually exclusive" instead of "exclusive".Blizzard: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026.
  • Campfires no longer deal damage to players below level 5.
  • Campfires deal reduced damage to players below 90% health.

Which Object to Place This Session

  1. Check which listed class buffs your group already has.
  2. Per player: one object. Basic Campfire limit: three.Source: Blizzard Deep Dive Panel Recap, checked Oct 8, 2026. Confirmed.
  3. All camp features share a one-hour cooldown.Source: Wowhead Camping Overview, checked Oct 8, 2026. Reported.
  4. Choose the object that covers a missing buff.
  5. Use Camp Tent below 5% of a level's Rested XP.Source: Wowhead Camping Overview, checked Oct 8, 2026. Reported.

Class-buff conflicts: Lute/Mark of the Wild, Banner/Divine Spirit, Fish Bowl/Blessing of Kings, and Mana Well/Blessing of Wisdom. Wowhead reports the Tent's 5% rested-XP target and says the Wheel's Strength buff is mutually exclusive with Strength of Earth Totem; Blizzard instead describes the Wheel as Attack Power.

Unlocking Your First Campsite

The same guide says you also get a "101" quest for each profession you have trained. Turn it in at that trainer to learn the profession's Tier 1 camp object. Each craft makes two copies, and each copy is used up when placed. You can trade them, but placing one needs the matching profession skill.

Sitting for the Buffs

After The Great Outdoors, a buff called Campfire Nearby shows up when a camp is close. Wowhead says you don't need to group with the camp's owner: walk over, /sit and wait about a minute.Source: Wowhead: What camping buffs can you get in WoW Forever?, checked Sep 28, 2026. Reported. Blizzard's September 24 notes above widen what counts as sitting.

Every Profession's Camp Objects

Blizzard's recap names objects for six professions. Wowhead's tables and the beta client, build 1.60.1.70009, show three tiers for every tradeskill. Reported. Tier 2 and Tier 3 objects keep the Tier 1 buff and add a feature. Each is taught by a Blueprint that needs skill 140 or 300, and most can be placed over the Tier 1 object to replace it.

EngineeringNone listedReagent Bot sells reagents; Repair Bot adds repairs; Anarchist's Workbench enables its recipes.

Engineering is the only crafting line where Wowhead's table lists no stat buff on any object. The Enchanting guide and Leatherworking guide cover those professions in full.

Cooking and First Aid

Cooking builds the fire itself. The Basic Campfire (skill 1) holds 3 camp features, the Journeyman Campfire (skill 90) holds 5 and the Expert Campfire (skill 200) holds 10. Campfires have a 5-minute cooldown, not the shared hour. Cooking also adds Cookie's Feast (a Stamina food) at 140 and an Iron Oven for top recipes at 300.

First Aid's First Aid Kit gives Stamina. Wowhead lists Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory as "Healing Potions and antivenom" and "Healing Potions and poultices" with the effects left blank. Healing Potions now belong to First Aid, a change the Alchemy guide explains.

What a Tier 1 Object Costs to Craft

The beta client lists these reagents for the skill 20 objects. Reported.

Wowhead adds Peacebloom for the Incense Candle, Rough Stone for the Lodestone and 3 Linen Bandages for the First Aid Kit. Tier 3 Blueprints need new reagents such as Bottled Screams for the Loom and Lich's Index Finger for the Alchemy Laboratory.

Camp Object Values at Level 60

The client gives exact numbers for six Tier 1 buffs. Reported. Each is mutually exclusive with a class buff, as Blizzard's recap says:

Swipe sideways to see all columns.

ObjectBuff at 60Not with
Enchanted Lute308 Armor, 13 all stats, 22 all resistances
Faction Banner32 Spirit
Camp Chair2% crit at every levelMoonkin Aura
Fish Bowl8% stats
Mana Well29 mana every 5 sec
Camp TentRested experience up to 5% of a levelNo class buff listed

The Lute, Banner and Mana Well scale down below 60, and the Banner gives 14 Spirit under level 40. All camp objects share one 1-hour cooldown. Wowhead's tooltips pair the Incense Candle with Arcane Intellect and the Lodestone with Blessing of Might. The Camp Tent does nothing if your Rested experience is already above 5% of a level, so it's a leveling tool. RestedXP, the paid route addon, is unrelated to this rest bonus.

Legacy Perks That Change Camping

Blizzard's Legacy article names three perks that affect camps. Confirmed. Field Guide, an Adventure perk, shortens the 1-hour cooldown on placing camping features. Permanence lengthens party, raid and camping buffs, and Reagent Economy makes Tier 1 camping features cost no materials. The Legacy guide lists every perk and tree.

A Source Conflict on the Sharpening Wheel

Blizzard's Deep Dive recap says the Sharpening Wheel increases Attack Power. Wowhead's guide, news post and tooltip text say Strength instead, and the tooltip lists it as exclusive with . The beta client extract we have does not cover Blacksmithing, so this page keeps both: Attack Power is Blizzard's Confirmed wording and Strength is Reported.

Leatherworking has a smaller mismatch. Blizzard's recap calls the Tanning Rack "required for more advanced Leatherworking recipes," while the client tooltip says it makes certain reagents and gives the recipe role to the Tier 3 Sewing Machine.Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap. Reported, pending a Blizzard correction.

Not Announced or Unresolved

  • Tents and camping gearDon't assume tents, shelter gear, or hearthstone binding exist in the camping system
  • Blizzard hasn't published the full object list.
  • Camp duration, despawn, and offline persistence rules are unpublished.
  • Territory restrictions for camps are unannounced.
  • Introduction NPCs and dungeon Blueprint drop lists are incomplete.

The object list above comes from client and Wowhead data.
