TL;DR
Reported Alliance links: Stormwind Harbor to Auberdine, Auberdine to Southshore, Southshore to Menethil Harbor, and Rut’theran Village to Auberdine. Confirm your dock’s destination before boarding.
Three are player-reported services and one comes from a beta walkthrough, all with guide corroboration; confirm the destination shown at your dock before you commit to the trip.
On This Page
The connections below give you a practical choice among five ports. A beta rider reported personally riding the Stormwind Harbor–Auberdine boat and the Menethil–Southshore–Auberdine service, and said Southshore remains between the endpoints in both directions. Current route references corroborate the port connections. Treat these as player-reported services, not a guarantee that a boat is operating when you arrive; WFG has not tested a ride in game.
Use the Alliance ship route planner to order the listed boarding stops between two of these ports.
Supported Alliance Boat Connections
Swipe sideways to see all columns.
| Connection | Mode and evidence | Before boarding |
|---|---|---|
| Stormwind Harbor ↔ Auberdine | Ship; reported current operation | Confirm which port you need. |
| Auberdine ↔ Southshore | Ship; stop on the northern service | Include Southshore as the middle stop. |
| Southshore ↔ Menethil Harbor | Ship; same three-stop service | Check that Menethil is your stop. |
| Rut’theran Village ↔ Auberdine | Ship; Forever beta route walkthrough | Use the Teldrassil–Darkshore port link. |
The first three rows are route connections reported by the rider and described in Forever route references. Rut’theran and Auberdine also appear together in a Forever beta quest walkthrough and a current travel guide. The guide sources label these routes Alliance; the rider did not state their faction. Access is therefore guide-reported, not independently faction-tested.
Choose the Connection You Need
- Stormwind ↔ Darkshore: Stormwind Harbor–Auberdine ship.
- Teldrassil ↔ Darkshore: Rut’theran Village–Auberdine boat.
- Hillsbrad ↔ Wetlands: route through Southshore.
For the northern service, plan for Southshore between Menethil Harbor and Auberdine. The rider specifically reported the Southshore stop in both directions, so do not plan around a separate direct Auberdine–Menethil leg. At Auberdine, Southshore is the next supported northern connection; at Southshore, continue toward Menethil or Auberdine according to the port you need.
If you are using the travel planner on this page, its route is a chain of supported legs. It ranks paths by the number of legs, not by travel time. None of the cited sources gives a sailing duration, departure interval, wait time, or fare, so a leg count cannot identify the fastest trip or predict when a ship will arrive.
Boarding Checks
Treat the table as route guidance, then confirm the service and destination at the dock. These sources establish connections and reported stops; they do not document a particular sign, interface, or boarding interaction. Check the current service in game before committing to a long cross-zone trip, especially if your character’s faction differs from the guide labels.
- Confirm the port you need before boarding.
- Include Southshore on the northern connection.
- Check faction access in the current client.
What This Subset Does Not Cover
This is a connected port subset, not a complete Azeroth transport map. The Steamwheedle Port–Powderfuse Port boat is omitted: a rider reported it and Overgear labels it for both factions, but it does not connect to these five stops. No Horde route, flight-master discovery rule, zeppelin, tram, or walking connection is verified here. No fares or sailing and waiting times are established.
For mount restrictions, see the separate No-Flying Policy.
