What should each level bracket spend?

This is a 31-point Affliction route followed by 20 points in Demonology. It favors Corruption, drains, and mana support first, then adds demon health and damage. The order is this guide's tooltip-led recommendation, not a measured fastest build.

The level labels use the calculator's normal one-point-per-level schedule from 10 through 60, for 51 points total. The level-40 row is the 31st point and takes Wrack. If you have Legacy's Talented perk, Blizzard says talent points can unlock up to five levels earlier, so follow your point total instead of the character-level column.

Check the current Warlock tree in the talent calculator before spending. It is a reported client read, not Blizzard's final build.

Why start in Affliction? The reported tooltip for Improved Corruption cuts its cast time and increases its damage. Improved Drains supports Drain Life, Drain Soul, and Wrack; Soul Harvesting adds mana regeneration after Drain Soul kills a target. Those are a clear damage-over-time and sustain rationale for solo questing, not proof of a speed advantage.

The last 20 points go to Demonology for a sturdier, better-supported demon. Demonic Embrace adds Stamina, Improved Health Funnel improves pet healing, Fel Vitality raises demon health and mana plus the Warlock's mana, and Demonic Energies heals the pet while sharing Life Tap mana. Unholy Power adds demon damage. The 31/20 split is a practical starting plan, not a raid build or a performance ranking.

What changed for Warlocks in the current beta?

Blizzard's September 24 beta notes record two Warlock details: Voidwalker Sacrifice scales with 10% of Warlock spell healing, and Life Tap's tooltip lists Spirit scaling only. Keep those confirmed notes separate from the talent calculator's reported tree. Neither note compares leveling specs or gives a leveling-speed result.

Where should a Warlock quest from 1 to 60?

Use faction zone brackets as a scaffold, not a Warlock-only itinerary. These are Classic baseline anchors from the zone route guide, which separates them from Forever's newer areas and marks their evidence status.

Some zones cross bracket lines, so the table groups options rather than prescribing a single chain. Blizzard's beta announcement opened with a level-20 cap and described a later increase as planned. Which races can be Warlocks in Forever?

Blizzard's race table lists Human and Gnome for the Alliance, and Orc, Forsaken, and Troll for the Horde. Troll Warlock is a new pairing in those tables. The racial guide lists Troll's passive Beast Slaying; this guide names the trait without turning it into a speed claim or race ranking.

When should you use a different leveling plan?

Use this route if you want Affliction's Corruption and drain talents before adding Demonology pet support. Choose another talent order if you prefer a different toolkit or want to optimize for a role beyond questing. This guide makes no damage, XP-per-hour, or race-speed claim, and the calculator reflects a reported beta client build that may change.
