Where to Enter Excavation Site: Wetlands

The dungeon is in the Wetlands, in the Eastern Kingdoms. Use the two Wetlands points as different landmarks: 47.8, 56.3 is the approach, while 53.4, 65.3 is the meeting stone and entry. Wowhead describes a newly accessible road climbing to the top of the hill. Quests to Check Before Traveling

This is a focused preparation list, not every quest filed under the dungeon. Read the linked quest's current requirements and your own quest log before traveling: follow-ups and item objectives can make two players' preparation different.

Treat the list as errands to reconcile with your group. Check which objectives each player already has, keep the relevant quest items, and agree on the return trip before starting. A quest appearing in the database does not guarantee that a character has completed its prerequisites or can accept it from another player.

Named Areas Inside the Dungeon

The current client names four subareas under Excavation Site: Wetlands. Choose pulls and detours around the group's active quest objectives. This reference does not assign quest-item drops to a boss or promise a particular encounter will spawn.

Where the Dungeon Fits While Leveling

The dungeon opened for beta testing on October 1 alongside the increase to a level-30 cap. The published dungeon bracket reaches 31, but the beta character cap remains 30 in those notes. That update also reduced the extra experience from dungeon quests by 50% beyond normal quest values. It did not say all dungeon experience was halved.
