600+ New Recipes Across Level Ranges and Disciplines
Blizzard's confirmation of over 600 new recipes comes with one scope note: the recipes span "professions and level ranges,"
not only the endgame:Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever Deep Dive Panel Recap, checked Sep 13, 2026.
- Level ranges: Blizzard says new recipes cover multiple level ranges.
- Dungeon Boss Blueprints: Blizzard confirmed bosses drop Blueprint recipes.
- Specialized Workspaces: Advanced recipes tie into the world.
Blizzard has not published which item types the new recipes add. Beyond trainer-taught patterns, Blizzard confirmed that advanced campsite objects drop as Blueprint recipes from specific dungeon bosses. For example, Leatherworkers can place a Tanning Rack that more advanced Leatherworking recipes require, and Alchemists can learn to place an Alchemy Lab.

Massive Cooking Overhaul: Stat Boosts and Experience Buffs
Blizzard's recap says crafted food can grant stat boosts and a small experience bonus, and Cooks can learn recipes for upgraded Campfires. The announcement singles out Cooking as a cornerstone of the open-world experience:
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Dual-Benefit Crafted Food | Blizzard's recap says crafted food was adjusted so it can grant a small experience bonus and stat boosts. |
| Campfire Synergy | Campfires are the main natural gathering spot to sit, gain rested status and refresh updated food buffs between combat encounters. |
| Upgraded Campfires | As Cooks advance their trade skill, they learn recipes for upgraded Campfires that raise campsite capacity from the standard three objects to five or ten at once, turning a simple roadside rest into a bigger gathering spot. |
The dated campfire rest-stop report covers the same day's Camping announcement.
Campsite Objects and Confirmed Profession Utility
Campsite objects from Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Herbalism buff a stat, but those buffs do not stack with the matching class buffs. Blizzard's Deep Dive panel recap gives examples of what different trades add to the shared world through the Camping system:
- Blacksmithing: Crafts a Sharpening Wheel providing an Attack Power buff.
- Tailoring: Crafts a Faction Banner boosting Spirit.
- Herbalism: Crafts an Incense Candle boosting Intellect.
- Alchemy: Can learn to place an Alchemy Lab.
- Leatherworking: Can place a Tanning Rack for advanced recipes.
These campsite stat bonuses are versions of standard class buffs and do not stack with buffs from specific classes. A group missing a class could cover that stat with a profession, but a group that already has the class buff gains nothing extra.
Legacy System Integration: Bountiful Harvest
You can spend Legacy Points on perks such as Bountiful Harvest, which raises how many materials you gather. Tradeskills feed into character progression through the newly announced Legacy System. Players who earn account-wide Legacy Points through leveling and skill milestones can spend them in the dedicated Professions Legacy Tree:
| Legacy Tree | Perk example |
|---|---|
| Professions | Characters can select perks such as "Bountiful Harvest," which increases the quantity of materials gathered from mining nodes, herb patches, and skinnable beasts. |
| Resourcefulness | Perks like "Reagent Economy" can eliminate reagent requirements from class abilities. Our Legacy Points and tree caps guide tracks that system. |
Distinguishing Official Facts From Community Rumors
Talent trees for individual professions are unannounced, and WoW Forever's profession slot limits are unconfirmed. Following the initial BlizzCon reveals, unverified rumors circulated across community forums:
| Rumor | Detail |
|---|---|
| Not Announced / No Official Evidence: Individual Profession Talent Trees | Community members wondered whether individual tradeskills would get dedicated talent trees. Confirmed talent systems in WoW Forever remain class talent trees and the account-wide Legacy System, which includes a character-level Professions tree. Omission from the presentation does not debunk the idea, but the feature is currently unannounced. |
| Unconfirmed: 2 Primary / 3 Secondary Limits | Traditional Classic WoW limits you to two primary professions and three secondary professions, but Blizzard has not formally published the exact slot limits or restrictions for WoW Forever. |
Open Details and Beta Status
Professions are in the beta, but several practical questions about them remain unannounced:
| Open detail | What is known |
|---|---|
| Complete recipe directory | Item names, reagent lists, and stat values for the 600+ new recipes. |
| Skill caps | Blizzard's Legacy System article sets tradeskill challenges at 150, 225, and 300 skill, but no final cap is stated. |
| Beta status | Professions are in the beta. Blizzard's September 24 beta development notes adjust Skinning training in Elwynn Forest and fix Campfire buffs. Blizzard has not said how many of the 600+ recipes the beta includes. |
What the Beta Client Shows Behind the 600+ Number
Blizzard's figure is a round number from a panel. The beta client now lets us check it. Our read of client build 1.60.1.70009 against Classic Era 1.15.9.69722 finds 1,011 profession rows across 12 tradeskills that Classic does not have.
This is reported client data: it shows what is in the files, not what players can learn.Source: Wowhead Forever Cooking spells, which lists the same client data, checked Sep 28, 2026.
Where the New Rows Land
Leatherworking leads with 281 new rows, then Blacksmithing with 201 and Tailoring with 187. Engineering adds 83, Alchemy 77, Enchanting 75 and Cooking 48. Every profession also gets four new rank spells and three camp recipes. Take those out and more than 900 rows remain, well above "600+."
Some may be unused or unfinished, so the two counts are not a contradiction yet.
Old Recipes Changed Too
In our client comparison, nearly all changed Tailoring and Leatherworking recipes now turn yellow at a lower skill, and Alchemy loses its Healing Potion recipes, which now sit under First Aid. The same comparison flags 209 Tailoring, 198 Leatherworking, 189 Blacksmithing and 107 Enchanting recipes as changed, with different skill-up thresholds, reagents or products.
Our Leatherworking guide and Alchemy guide walk through those changes.
The Cooking Overhaul in the Beta Client
39 New Dishes and Drinks
The client lists 39 new Cooking foods and drinks: 48 new rows, minus four rank spells and five camp recipes. They include six teas brewed from herbs, such as Peace Tea and Sage's Tea, and a line of smoothies. Among the foods are Strength, Intellect, Spell Damage and Armor dishes, with recipe items that require up to skill 275.
Campfire Kits and Blueprints
The old Basic Campfire spell is retired. Cooks now craft a Basic Campfire Kit from one Simple Wood at skill 1. Wowhead's camping overview says the Basic, Journeyman and Expert campfires hold 3, 5 and 10 extra camp features, and players who sit or craft nearby for 1 minute get their benefits.Source: Wowhead Forever camping overview, checked Sep 28, 2026.

The client lists Blueprints for the Journeyman Campfire (skill 90), Cookie's Feast (140), the Expert Campfire (200) and an Iron Oven (300). Wowhead says the Iron Oven is "required for the most advanced cooking recipes." Our camping guide covers every profession's objects.
How Big the XP Bonus Is
Blizzard called the food bonus "a small experience bonus."Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever Deep Dive Panel Recap, checked Sep 13, 2026.
The client's new Well Fed tooltips carry a conditional line, "Experience gained from kills increased by," tied to a hidden aura named Well Fed XP Boost.
Wowhead's Forever database lists that aura at 6% more XP from kills, plus 1% for quests and exploration.Source: Wowhead Forever: Well Fed XP Boost, checked Sep 28, 2026. The client does not say when the condition applies.

If the value holds, cooked food adds a little XP to every mob you kill while leveling. For full leveling routes, see our RestedXP and Zygor Guides pages.
One Conflict to Keep in Mind
Blizzard's recap says the Blacksmithing Sharpening Wheel "increases Attack Power."Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever Deep Dive Panel Recap, checked Sep 13, 2026.
The beta client's tooltip and Wowhead's camping overview both say it grants increased Strength, "exclusive with Strength of Earth Totem." Until Blizzard clarifies, treat the client value as the current beta state.
