Blizzard's October 7 visual update also previews revised HD Druid forms, with more detailed fur and adjusted colors to better fit original Azeroth's visual style.
The October 7 announcement addresses how the new race fits beside the original game's models. Its clearest scheduling news is early 2027 for SD Skyborne characters and Druid forms. This is a future development target, not a claim that those models are available in the beta now.
HD Druid Forms: Fur Detail and Color Changes

Blizzard says it is reducing a bit of the softness, adding fur detail, and adjusting color saturation. The goal is to keep the forms' exotic origins visible without making them clash with other creatures in Azeroth. It presents these forms as one example of revisiting visuals that did not meet its consistency and cohesion goals.
The post supplies examples of the direction. It does not attach a release date to the HD form revisions, so the images should be read as a preview rather than proof of a live model change.Source: Blizzard, HD Skyborne Druid forms
SD Characters and Druid Forms Are in Development

The original SD/HD player-character option focused on the existing races because players already had an attachment to those older models. Blizzard now agrees with feedback that HD Skyborne can look jarring alongside SD characters and the world.
Its response is to develop an SD option for Skyborne, including SD Druid forms. The announced window is early 2027, with more information closer to that time. What This Means for Choosing a Character
If the SD look is central to your race choice, plan around the early-2027 target and check later announcements for changes. The preview establishes an art direction and a development window; it does not guarantee a particular hairstyle or final model.
Our Skyborne guide covers the race itself, and the race overview compares the available choices. For the other October 7 announcements, read the Mage and Shaman developer deep dive and PvP progression report.
