Blizzard's September 12 What's Next panel recap presents new locations inside the original level 1 to 60 world. A September 13 Found Photos recap explains that framing in more detail and adds information about Riverglades and Mount Hyjal.
The categories describe the kind of addition, not a release order or a set of gameplay rules. The Found Photos recap places Mount Hyjal under “Anticipated,” Riverglades under “New but familiar,” and Zephras Isle under “Unexpected.”
The design frame is Classic's Year 1
Blizzard says WoW: Forever begins in the early “Year 1” period, before Kazzak reopens the Dark Portal and before later journeys reshape the timeline. The team describes a separate “time bubble” so it can explore stories that fit inside Classic Azeroth without disrupting its foundational events. It says the additions favor local mysteries, grounded conflicts, and underused characters.
This explains the panel's emphasis on familiar roads and places; it does not establish the final quest order or launch state for any zone.
Riverglades has two official quest totals
The What's Next recap describes more than 150 new quests across much of the mid-30s to mid-40s experience. The later Found Photos recap calls Riverglades a mid-level zone with nearly 200 quests for Horde and Alliance. Blizzard has not explained whether the totals cover different scopes or reflect a revision.
Exact level endpoints and a quest sequence remain unpublished; the zone index does not resolve the two totals.
Darkspear Islands is a separate battleground plan
The recap also announces Darkspear Islands, a 15 vs 15 battleground off Kalimdor's coast. It mentions strategic control points and Arathi Basin-style flag capture and defense, but names no point layout, scoring rules, or Darkspear-specific rewards.
