Alcaz Prison in WoW Forever: Levels 48-53
The 48-53 launch bracket and the island-versus-prison distinction.
Alcaz Prison is planned for levels 48-53, across the late-40s leveling band. Blizzard's October 1 beta-access roster omits it; that roster does not establish current prison access.

Where Alcaz Prison Sits in Progression
Blizzard's September 15 table gives Alcaz Prison a lower level of 48 and an upper level of 53. It follows Krol'dok Stronghold, planned for 40-45, and precedes Blackmaw Hold at 55-60. This puts it across the transition from the late 40s into the early 50s. The Shaper's Terrace is a later option, planned for 58-60.Planned, first-party, in the future tenseSource: Blizzard forums: dungeon brackets, post 1, corresponding rows, checked Oct 3, 2026.
The bracket is a leveling-planning reference. It does not define a level-48 entrance gate, expected clear time, or reward quality. Compare the complete dungeon list before building a schedule around these ranges.
Alcaz Island Geography and the Prison Entrance
The beta client contains Alcaz Island as a child area of Dustwallow Marsh, in Kalimdor. The record gives an existing geographic name to distinguish from the announced dungeon. It does not name Alcaz Prison, locate its door, or provide a safe travel route to it.Reported, press or datamine, not confirmedSource: Beta client geography, build 1.60.1.70205, AreaTable 2079 to parent 15, Map 1, checked Oct 3, 2026.
Use Alcaz Prison when looking for the Forever dungeon. An island label or information about older versions of Alcaz Island should not be treated as a verified Forever dungeon map, quest chain, or access requirement.
Blizzard's Announced Dungeon
The What's Next recap includes Alcaz Prison among nine new dungeons intended to expand the original level 1-60 world. The official panel is announcement context for that roster, rather than a tested entrance or encounter guide.Planned, first-party, in the future tenseSource: What's Next panel recap, Dungeons, Raids, and Battlegrounds, checked Oct 3, 2026.
Planning Questing Between Dungeon Brackets
The leveling-zone reference helps you compare questing regions around the 48-53 band. Do not assume a questing zone's level range identifies the prison entrance or supplies its dungeon quests.
If you want guided questing, see RestedXP first, Zygor second, or the guide comparison when choosing a product. Those are leveling resources, not evidence of Alcaz-specific walkthrough coverage.
Not Announced or Unresolved
The checked client tables and official posts do not establish an actionable prison entrance, dungeon-specific story or quest chain, boss roster, drops, or an access requirement. These details need evidence beyond the island record and launch roster.
