Where the Sources Disagree
Checked October 3: all 27 trees were compared with public-client build 1.60.1.70205. The static trees and interactive calculator share the website projection. Tooltip text retains the 70009 baseline plus documented Blizzard and 70170 corrections. This comparison does not establish current runtime hotfix or refund behavior.
Crusade is gone from build 1.60.1.70009, a Retribution talent that raised all damage dealt by up to 2%. Blizzard's September 24 notes do not mention it. Reported (client read, WoW Forever Talents).
How Much the Trees Changed From Classic
Wowforevertalents.com's read of build 1.60.1.70009 counts 467 talents across the nine classes: 111 new, 281 reworked from their Classic Era wording and 75 that match Classic word for word.Source: WoW Forever Talent Changes from Classic, checked Sep 28, 2026. Reported. Those counts read build 1.60.1.70009, before the October 1 build removed King of the Jungle and added two Feral talents. This page's markers ignore differences in capital letters only, which moves seven talents, Frostbite and Seal Fate among them, from reworked to unchanged: 274 reworked and 82 unchanged.
Which Classes Changed Most
Paladin and Warlock carry the most new talents, 18 each, followed by Hunter with 14. Mage has only 5 new talents and keeps more unchanged from Classic than any other class, so a Classic Mage will recognize most of its trees. Warlock Destruction, Druid Balance and Druid Feral Combat have no talent left as Classic wrote it. Reported.

Every class also grew. The client read counts 432 talents in the Classic Era trees against 467 in Forever, with Paladin rising from 44 to 50 and Mage from 49 to 54. Tree sizes run from 16 talents (Paladin Protection, Hunter Beast Mastery, Shaman Elemental and Restoration, Warlock Destruction, Druid Balance and Druid Restoration) to 19 (Rogue Subtlety, Mage Frost, Warlock Demonology and Druid Feral Combat). Reported.
What the September 24 Build Removed and Renamed
Blizzard's September 24 notes remove Holy's Improved Holy Strike and make its 2-second cooldown cut baseline, because an early cooldown cut in a healing tree made it "feel like a talent that was required."Blizzard: September 24 beta development notes.
Confirmed. Crusade, the Row 4 Retribution talent, also left the client with no line in those notes.

Two Feral talents kept their slots under new names, both Blizzard's September 24 renames: Mangle is now Primal Bite, and Primal Fury is now Blood Frenzy with its original icon. Berserk and Ferocity now name Primal Bite in their tooltips. Confirmed, and the client read carries all four. The Feral Combat guide covers how the spec plays with them.
How Rows and Prerequisites Work
A tree's next row opens after 5 more points in that tree, the rule Classic Era also used, so Row 7 needs 30 points in the tree and the capstone is your 31st. Reported. Blizzard's milestones at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points line up with Rows 3, 4, 5 and 7.

Some talents add a second lock on top of the row rule. In build 70009, Elemental Alacrity sits on Row 3 with no prerequisite, Call of Thunder on Row 4 needs 3 points in Elemental Alacrity, and Elemental Fury on Row 6 needs Call of Thunder. Blizzard's notes confirm the Row 3 and Row 6 swap; the prerequisite chain is Reported. The Elemental spec guide walks through that path.
Tuning the Client Already Carries
Most of the September 24 pass changed numbers, not layout. Each of these is Confirmed in Blizzard's notes and shows in the 70009 text:
- Sacred Arbiter: Holy Strike damage 20%, was 10%.
- Two-Handed Weapon Specialization (Paladin): 2/4/6%, was 3/6/9%.
- Holy Power: also 15% Holy Strike crit chance.
- Twist of Light: Seals cost 20% less mana.
- Bloodthrill: 4/8/12/16/20% proc chance, was half that.
- Wake of Fire: 30-second buff, was 20.
- Hot Streak: 20-second buff, was 15. The October 1 build renamed it Heating Up.
- Strider Kick: 30% run speed for 3 seconds.
Lava Burst, a one-rank Elemental talent, now reads 150 to 193 Fire damage, up from 105 to 135 in the prior build. Blizzard confirms the buff, pitched as about 10% over the matching Lightning Bolt rank; the exact figures are Reported from the client.
What the October 1 Build Changed
Blizzard's October 1 beta notes change more talents. Each is Confirmed for the beta, and the website projection includes the verified Heating Up and Soul Harvest names, Shifting Power and Improved Shifting Power, and the Feral moves.Source: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, October 1, checked Oct 1, 2026.
- New: Shifting Power, a Feral talent connected to Shredding Attacks in Row 4. Cat Form only, it costs 55% of base Mana and converts it into 40 Energy on a 16 second cooldown.
- New: Improved Shifting Power in Row 5 cuts that cooldown by 4/8 seconds.
- Removed: King of the Jungle, a Feral talent.
- Renamed: Hot Streak is now Heating Up, and Soul Harvesting is now Soul Harvest.
- Hunter: Deflection's Parry increase is 1/2/3/4/5%, was 2/4/6/8/10%. Sniper Shot, the 31st Marksmanship talent, has a 45-yard range.
- Mage: Combustion has 3 charges, was 4.
- Paladin: Redoubt's block chance is 4/8/12/16/20%, was 6/12/18/24/30%. Holy Shield's is 30%, was 20%. Champion of the Light's Intellect to Spell Damage ratio is 20/40/60%, was 33/66/100%.
The character sheet now also explains that spells cast at ranks far below your level have a reduced chance to activate talents such as Frostbite and Omen of Clarity. The class changes guide lists every October 1 class change by class.
What the Calculator Still Can't Show
Three retained tooltips print a bracketed [?] instead of a number: Hunter Resourcefulness, Rogue Riposte and Warlock Demonic Brand. These values remain unresolved. Full spell-text parity with 70205 has not been established. Reported.
Checked Snapshot and Unresolved Nodes
The source comparison pins build 1.60.1.70205, build configuration 842b2e5d11f8d6fe257a5b73bd5cf6c6. It covers ranks, positions, prerequisite edge types and spending conditions in all 27 class trees. The client normal-point currency grants one point at each level from 10 to 60: 21 at the tested planning cap of 30, and 51 at 60. Talented Legacy timing is excluded.
Blizzard's October 2 Warrior notes conflict with the exported base tables. Improved Cleave, Boundless Rage and Toughness are removed; Iron Will and six other talents move. Those nodes, Bastion and Focused Rage remain visible as unavailable snapshot entries. New Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker are excluded until their complete positions and identities can be reconciled. Flurry retains Blizzard's documented Death Wish prerequisite. With the conflicting nodes unavailable, Warrior Protection currently stops at eight supported points before its later spending gates.
Two off-grid duplicate records are excluded from this projection: Hunter Lightning Reflexes ID 104982, represented by 110859, and Priest Holy Specialization ID 105865, represented by 110855. These records remain in the raw client groups; exclusion does not mean the records were deleted. Improved Serpent Sting's off-grid vertical position is normalized using its 15-point group condition.
The generated trait constants distinguish sufficient edges from required edges. Intimidation can follow either Bestial Swiftness or Bestial Wrath. The planner conservatively checks that a purchase order exists; it rejects a self-supporting reciprocal pair. Live refund behavior and the full-parent-rank activation convention remain unverified, so level-60 builds are planning context rather than a live-game legality guarantee.
Old Build Links
Current links preserve the class, planning level and allocation. Older y links use frozen client-ID slots; Druid z links use the earlier corrected Feral order. The oldest unprefixed and x formats map frozen names only when the match is unambiguous. Invalid links, repurposed talents, unavailable nodes and removed talents are rejected as a whole. The planner keeps your existing build and explains the problem instead of reassigning or dropping points.
Talent Points Are Not Legacy Points
Talent points come from leveling one character, 51 by level 60. Legacy points come from 65 account-wide challenges and spend in three seven-perk trees, Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness, with a 16-point cap per character at launch. Confirmed by Blizzard's Legacy System article. Resourcefulness there is a perk tree, not the Hunter talent above.

The one crossover is the Adventure perk Talented, which unlocks talent points up to 5 levels earlier. Blizzard describes it as a timing change and names no extra points. For an alt climbing to 60, that pairs with a route guide: RestedXP says every Forever route "will be optimized for your class." (planned)
