What is confirmed

  • Blizzard's product page says Forever updates cover all specializations. Confirmed.
  • The What's Next panel recap says talents should feel noticeable and create meaningful trade-offs while preserving class identity. Confirmed.
  • The Forever gameplay trailer shows the on-screen card “NEW SKILLS & TALENTS” at about 01:26. Confirmed.
  • The Deep Dive panel recap confirms the overarching talent tree design and class buff changes:
  • Talent trees follow a Classic-minded 7-row structure with one-point milestone talents at 11, 21, and 31 points, joined by a new 16-point milestone. Confirmed.
  • Talents that granted essential class buffs—such as Divine Spirit (Priest), Blessing of Kings (Paladin), and Improved Mark of the Wild (Druid)—are now baseline for their classes. Confirmed.
  • Paladins receive an extensive kit and talent overhaul detailed below, establishing effective roles for tanking, healing, and melee damage while preserving classic toolkit gaps. Confirmed.
  • Account progression uses three Legacy Trees (Professions, Adventure, and Resourcefulness) with a 16-point launch spending cap, separating account-wide perks from class talent trees. Confirmed.

What is still unknown

The checked first-party pages do not publish node-by-node talent trees for the other eight classes, exact respec costs, dual specialization rules, or loadout swapping and import systems. These remain Not announced.

Blizzard confirms a level 1–60 journey, not an immutable cap or post-60 talent tier. The published pacing and route checkpoints cover that journey, and the named race-class pairings sit in the race and faction evidence. GamesRadar+ reports “indefinitely,” so the cap remains a source conflict. No Forever source publishes separate PvP talents or a Hero Talent system. What is published about PvP sits in the Darkspear Islands battleground notes. Do not import The War Within rules into Forever. Not announced.

Build planning and calculators

The calculator at the top of this page covers all nine classes; pick a class, spend points, and use Copy build link to share the build. Its trees and New, Changed, and Classic flags come from the community WoW Forever Talents dataset and are Reported, not Blizzard data. Any WoW Forever talent calculator is a fan tool and comparison aid. Wowhead and wowtbc.gg show nine-class trees. Their trees are Reported; no supported point-by-point Forever build or list is published (Not announced). Use the classes guide for race and class evidence. Class pages carry the same community trees in detail, such as the three reworked Warrior trees and the Mage class notes. Labels such as 11.0, 11.0.5, alpha, or TWW are not Forever evidence; do not substitute Modern WoW data.

Where the talent data comes from: every one of the 470 records in that dataset carries its own sources[] list, and those entries name four kinds of evidence. Most of them, 745 attributions, point at nikftw's BlizzCon show-floor screenshots of the talent panes; 214 point at forevertalents.up.railway.app, a third-party dataset the records themselves describe as footage-based; 49 point at a timestamped Twitch VOD; and 13 point at a reader screenshot of the show-floor build dated 2026-09-13. The Classic side of each comparison is labelled “WoW Classic Era 1.15.9 client tables (vanilla talent trees)”. 230 of the 470 records carry a note of their own, most often “not yet verified in footage by us”, and that note renders inside the tooltip. None of this is Blizzard data, and a record whose two ranks disagree, such as Improved Righteous Fury, is shown as the dataset has it rather than reconciled here.

Confirmed Paladin talent and kit details

Early press reports from Output Lag and fan calculators are now superseded and confirmed by Blizzard's Deep Dive panel recap, whose broadcast is covered in our Deep Dive panel and stream report:

  • Baseline kit updates: Paladins gain Holy Strike at level 6 (instant weapon strike dealing Holy damage on a 12-second cooldown). Seals are no longer consumed by casting Judgment. Consecration is baseline at level 20, dealing high damage and threat on the first four targets hit and reduced damage beyond that.
  • Protection talents and tanking: Seal of Fury provides a tank-focused seal favoring fast weapons that grants small absorb shields and causes Judgment to taunt. Improved Seal of Fury returns mana on absorb, Shield Specialization returns mana on blocks, and Swift Judgment provides a 1-minute cooldown reset on Judgment to recover missed taunts. Templar's Bulwark grants an absorb shield based on maximum health (interacting with Forbearance), Reckoning triggers from blocks as well as critical hits, and Iron Creed lets timed Holy Strikes reduce incoming damage.
  • Holy talents and healing: Voice of Truth grants temporary immunity to Silence and Interrupts, Reverence enables Spirit mana regeneration while casting, and Infusion of Light reduces Holy Light's cast time after Flash of Light or Holy Shock crits. Holy Shock moves to a 10-second cooldown, Consecrated Ground increases Holy damage taken by enemies in Consecration, and Light's Vigil resets Holy Shock to trigger extra damage or party-wide healing.
  • Retribution talents and melee: Vindication reduces enemy Attack Power while increasing the Paladin's, Sacred Arbiter empowers Holy Strike and refreshes Judgments, Champion of the Light scales spell damage with Intellect, Instrument of the Law reduces threat and makes Holy Wrath instant, and Twist of Light supports Seal Twisting without requiring a swing-timer addon by echoing a new Seal into the next melee swing.
  • Toolkit gaps preserved: Paladins still lack an interrupt, cannot slow targets, and must use Seal and Judgment to access their taunt rather than pressing a standalone button.

FAQ

  • Final build? No. Fan calculators compare reported trees; they do not prove release rules or balance. Not announced.
  • Reset talent points? Reset, dual spec, and loadout behavior is Not announced.
  • Profession talent trees? Clarified. The rumored trees are part of the account-wide Legacy System (Professions, Adventure, and Resourcefulness trees with a 16-point launch spending cap), while professions themselves receive 600+ new recipes and campsite crafted objects rather than class-style talent trees.
